đšGM to Jason La Canfora on #Eagles Jalen Hurts:
âThis was already the end for Hurts...
Howie was looking for his next guy.â
Several GMs say Howie mightâve spent a 2nd-rounder on Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby if heâd been allowed into the supplemental draft

#Eagles defense is last in quick pressure rate which is more of a D-line metric than just normal pressure rate.

Oh, this app told me I was wrong and Hurts and his camp are at odds with the #Eagles.
Still waiting for the apology to the #Eagles organization blogs.
Noteworthy:
âHurts' team considered Roseman, specifically, "exceptional" throughout the process when it came to Hurts' health, per source. He was 'extremely hands on' throughout, 'worried about Jalen's health more than anything else,' the source added.â

BG on finding out that Jalen Hurts had a blood clot:
"I didn't know what was going on at all.. When we talk, we only talk love.
I just want him to be alright."

Jalen Hurts' own camp is defending Howie Roseman.
Per ESPN: Hurts saw a specialist in Boston the Friday before IR, and his side says Howie was "worried about Jalen's health more than anything else."
So much for the "Eagles endangered him" narrative.
The entire Jalen Hurts timeline hinges on one distinction: DVT or superficial vein thrombosis?
If DVT was diagnosed before London, he should not have played. If it was only SVT, clearing him met medical standards.
That distinction matters. @PatMcAfeeShow

Lou Williams reveals to Allen Iverson that the Sixers front office benched him while averaging 20+ points, leading Iverson to reflect on how his pride and ego ultimately pushed him out of the league.
Iverson: "And I think I committed professional suicide by letting it be known that I had a problem with coming off the bench."
Iverson: "And that was my ego, that was my pride. You know what I mean? My whole life I've never, that wasn't my thing."
Lou: "They pulled me in the office and was like, look, AI going to start because we feel like in Philly he should start...and we going to have you come off the bench. I was averaging 20 plus points a game at that time."
Iverson: "So I started coming off the bench when he came back out of love and respect for him, and I never got a shot again after that."

I covered the Chris Maragos trial with @oonagoodinsmith. Most days we were the only reporters in the room, and we broke the news about the verdict.
The most common mistake people make about this trial is bringing in the Eagles, who werenât defendants in the case. 1/2
Letâs talk about the Chris Maragos case⊠aka the one where a Philly jury hit Eagles doctors with a $43.5 million verdict for negligently ending a Super Bowl captainâs career.
Maragos tore his PCL (with meniscus issues) in a 2017 game vs. the Panthers. Dr. James Bradley (longtime Steelers doc) did the surgery; Rothman Orthopaedics (Eagles team docs) handled rehab.
Plaintiffs argued the meniscus wasnât properly addressed and rehab was advanced too aggressively (including running) despite a 2018 MRI showing persistent problems. That caused further damage and forced retirement in 2019.
Defense said the meniscus was stable and more surgery would have done more harm than good.
After a two-week trial (Nick Foles, Trey Burton, and Jordan Hicks testified), the jury found negligence in under three hours.
Liability: Bradley 67% ($29.2M), Rothman 33% ($14.3M). An economist put lost earnings at ~$8.7M as the floor; the rest reflected pain, limitations, and future care.
The verdict was upheld on appeal in 2024.
Maragosâ lawyer put it bluntly: it forces team doctors to stop focusing only on âwhen can he return to playâ and start thinking about the next 50 years of a playerâs life.
