The pedestrianisation literally just started three days ago. They are going to redo the road surface sometime in 2027.
This is unbelievably shit, even for the Yookay.
I naturally assumed that the area had been dug up and pedestrianised in a new surface, but no, its just jumped up traffic cones and some wrap, and Citizen Khan seems uniquely proud of it.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Oxford Street pedestrianisation began 26 Oct as the initial transitional phase with traffic banned, but permanent road raising, seating, trees and features are scheduled for spring 2027 per plans; current temporary bollards/barriers match official descriptions.

Oh no! Who at @GWRHelp thought it'd be a good idea to drive a 4 coach 387 as the only stopping train to London Paddington when Reading station is full of angry disrupted passengers?

What on earth...
What's wrong with her?

I honestly want to know what EMR plan to do with the 158s for the next 10-15? years.
Almost all of them run as 2 car sets on 2+ hour runs. 2 car trains are NOT good enough. We're in the 2020s, not the 1980s.
A few ex TfW 158s would do wonders.

Has anyone else noticed, the pedestrianisation of Oxford Street has become wall-to-wall anti-cycling propaganda all day?

I will tell my GP about how I was told I could be eligible!

So who is the bigger threat to women - trans women who just want to pee or the random strangers who appointed themselves Female Body Inspectors?

I actually managed to score one half an hour after it opened!

Good! Our cities and towns are no place for these dangerous, loud, polluting death machines!
You should only be using a car for intra urban journeys if you're disabled or taking heavy loads.

Partially for privacy reasons so I don't give out the actual name of my GP surgery when I make angry Twitter posts about them and partially because I'm angry that it takes that long to get through and if you don't call at 8 there won't be any appointments!

Or take the Elizabeth line to Bond Street or Tottenham Court Road. Both step free to train.

Maybe you should be campaigning for less car use and more use of active or public transport in London? Cars are dangerous, loud and polluting.

Took me 65 tries to get through. Most of them my phone just went "line busy" and couldn't even put me through. I think most people just gave up at that point.
Here's just a friendly reminder to wear an FFP3 mask if you're going to the GP or any medical venue, especially while sick!
Surprisingly I actually got an appointment despite it taking me nearly half an hour to actually get through.
Obviously all the doctors are off sick because nobody is wearing FFP3 masks and everyone is going to the GP while sick.
