Yesterday, I exercised my right (as a freeman of The City of London) to drive a herd of sheep across the River Thames.
It was in aid of @RedbridgeLive mayor @jonesbert's charitable campaign to raise funds for @ParkinsonsUK @HavenHouseCH and Mind.

A tough defeat, but nothing changes our plan. We keep working, keep believing and keep moving forward. The best is yet to come 💪🏾🔴

🚨 Virgil van Dijk: “There was a clear penalty for us. VAR doesn’t notice it? There are 50 cameras…”.
“Why does he have to complain when there’s so many cameras? Everyone has seen it. At the end of the day, it wasn’t given so congratulations to Arsenal”.
My First half analysis.
1) Sign Araujo ASAP
2) Buy Mac Allister some shooting boots
3) Wirtz needs to be more physical
4) An unbiased referee would help (no yellow card for Calafiori, no penalty when Isak’s shirt was pulled in the penalty area etc).
Thoughts?

It's a very rare occurrence that Farage attends the Commons. When there's a major event like the budget, he has to lie to explain his absence. As he lies every day, as a matter of course.

I've just left the Commons Chamber following the Budget, and here's the important news for Ilford South.
✅ Around 1,466 properties in Redbridge and 561 in Barking & Dagenham are estimated to benefit from a business rates freeze for eligible retail, hospitality and leisure properties.
✅ We're increasing Small Business Rates Relief thresholds, meaning around 33% of retail, hospitality and leisure properties across London will pay no business rates at all.
But today's Budget goes further, delivering for people across Ilford South:
⚡ Help with energy bills: A £100 payment this winter to eligible households in Council Tax Bands A–D.
💡 Keeping energy costs down: Extending 0% VAT on electricity until July 2027, and reforming gas standing charges.
🏫 Supporting our children: Five primary schools in Ilford South have received funding for breakfast clubs: Cleveland Road, Uphall, Gordon, Chadwell and South Park Primary Schools.
🏡 Helping first-time buyers: The new Your First Home programme will help eligible buyers onto the property ladder.
👨👩👧 Backing working families: Expanding parental pay from April 2029 to support self-employed fathers, partners and adopters.
Today's Budget is about supporting our high streets, easing pressure on household bills, investing in our children and helping more people build a secure future.
I know how hard families and local businesses across Ilford South are working, and I will continue making sure their voices are heard in Parliament.
A Budget that backs our businesses, supports our families and delivers for Ilford South.

As we look ahead to today's Budget, there's one bold idea I'd love to see the Government seriously consider.
Having lived and worked in Singapore, where I worked closely with the Housing & Development Board (HDB), I've seen first-hand what a dedicated national housing institution can achieve.
𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙𝙣'𝙩 𝘽𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙚'𝙨 𝙃𝘿𝘽?
Imagine using a targeted wealth tax as seed capital to unlock billions of pounds in long-term pension-fund and institutional investment, creating a sustainable, large-scale social housing programme.
This wouldn't simply be about building homes. It would be about creating long-term national assets, stimulating economic growth, reducing the billions spent on temporary accommodation and giving families the security and dignity of a place to call home.
Britain has the capital. Britain has the demand. What we need is the institutional ambition to bring them together.
Housing shouldn't just be seen as a cost to the Treasury. It should be recognised as an investment in Britain's future.
Today's Budget is an opportunity to start thinking differently - not just about how much we spend on housing, but how we finance it, deliver it and build for future generations.
Let's be ambitious. Let's think long-term.
Let's build a Britain where everyone has the opportunity of a decent, affordable home. 🏘️

Ahead of Living Wage Week 2026, it was a pleasure to meet with Stephen and Bernie from @RedbridgeCit to discuss the importance of the real Living Wage.
I look forward to working with them to help more workers benefit from fair pay and to encourage more employers to become Living Wage accredited.

On behalf of my constituents, I met with Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, alongside parliamentary colleagues for an update on Jagtar Singh Johal’s case.
I continue to press for Jagtar’s full release and return home to his family. His long ordeal must end.
The Farage circus is finally petering out, just like the Green one.
Hard to claim you represent a massive "people's movement" when three-quarters of the hall didn’t even bother to show up. The hype is fading fast.
