If you ever banked with StanChart Uganda, you know the bar was set annoyingly high.
An app that just worked. A Visa card that crossed borders without seeking clearance. Charges that didn't arrive with mysterious relatives.
Anyway, I'm back in the market.
Sell me your bank. What's genuinely good about it?

Tooro: Succession questions that need answers
If Oyo did leave a Will and had a son, as claimed by his family, then questions arise about why that succession route was not followed and why the alleged son was not announced as successor. Did Oyo subvert the tradition by not making his son known? Or is there no son? โ๏ธ @dmukholi1

The biggest risk in a big job isnโt failure โ itโs losing yourself in the title.
@rkabushenga reflects on a trap many corporate leaders quietly fall into: fusing their entire identity with the position they hold.
When that happens, the office, the power and the privileges stop being temporary responsibilities and start feeling like who you are. Gratitude turns into entitlement. Perspective disappears.
He explains how being grounded by his family kept him from believing his status defined him. To his children, he was simply โdadโ. To his wife, he was a husband who needed to be at the dinner table at 7pm โ not โthe boss fixing the factoryโ.
Itโs a timely reminder: no matter how high you rise, one day you will leave that office and return to the โcold waterโ you came from.
In this clip, he uses a vivid proverb about boiling water to capture exactly what happens when leaders forget their origins โ and what it means for how you lead today.

If youโve lived with dogs, you know the pain that Iโm going through. Around 6:15 this morning, my reckless driver knocked my loyal, trusted friend called Michelle in our compound. Iโve lived with Michelle since 2012, after Sheila and I bought her from a dog show in Lugogo. Actually it was Sheilaโs dog.
There were times when everybody abandoned me, and Michelle was there for me. I remember there was a period where I stayed with Michelle for four months, the two of us in this house. Michelle was a very unique friend. She was extremely intelligent and would even knock on my door whenever she wanted to enter my bedroom upstairs. I even told people on my radio show that I have a dog that knocks, and they thought I was lying. That was Michelle. She would also knock whenever she wanted to come to the dining area.
The day I lost my father on 1st September 2019, thatโs the day I realized that dogs are like human beings. Michelle came and sat near me in the living room. Because I could not stand the pain of losing my father, I went to my bedroom. Michelle followed me to my bedroom and deliberately refused to leave my side. Thatโs the kind of friend I have lost.
During the COVID period in 2021, Michelle battled uterine cancer. She underwent surgery at Mutungo Veterinary Clinic, where she spent six days. The doctors discovered she had uterine cancer and removed her uterus. I visited her every single day, and she recovered successfully. Ever since, we lived a good life together. Thatโs how strong Michelle was.
Today, we have put Michelle to rest. I have lost a loyal and trusted friend.
Those of you who have dogs know the pain Iโm going through. In the world we live in today, you can hardly have a loyal friend. A dog will never betray its master.
Losing a loyal dog like that is heartbreaking. Theyโre family, not just pets. And to lose them to someoneโs recklessness makes it hurt even more because it feels so unfair.

My former headmaster, Dr. Peregrine Kibuuka (may he continue to rest in peace), often reminded us:
"You may commit an offence as a group but, when I send you home, there comes a moment when you step out of the taxi and walk that lonely road by yourself".
It was his way of teaching us that while actions may be taken collectively, consequences are ultimately borne individually. The crowd may share the decision, but accountability always finds your doorstep alone.

A beautiful poem by Lee Tzu Pheng (Singapore Cultural Medallion winner)
When I'm dead.
Your tears will flow
But I won't know
Cry with me now instead.
You will send flowers,
But I won't see
Send them now instead
You'll say words of praise
But I won't hear.
Praise me now instead
You'll forget my faults,
But I won't know.....
Forget them now instead.
You'll miss me then,
But I won't feel.
Miss me now, instead.
You'll wish You could have spent more time with me,
Spend it now instead
When you hear I'm gone, you'll find your way to my house to pay condolence but we haven't even spoken in years.
Look for me now.
Spend time with every person around you, and help them with whatever you have to make them happy, your families, friends and acquaintances.
Make them feel Special because you never know when time will take them away from you forever.
Alone I can 'Say' but together we can 'Talk'.
Alone I can 'Enjoy' but together we can 'Celebrate'
Alone I can 'Smile' but together we can 'Laugh'
That's the BEAUTY of Human Relations.
We are nothing without each other
So Stay Connected!!

If PWC Uganda received 400m UGX (~100k USD) from say PWC Bermuda as part of the fees to execute an assignment under the PWC group.... They'd be considered foreign agents and would have to go to the Minister to report themselves or be jailed for 20 years.
Very Interesting law.

๐Limits on policy advocacy and related activities
๐Expanded powers for disclosure, inspection, and enforcement
๐Strict penalties, including fines and long prison terms
