Here's my 'currently reading' thread 👇 (and my favourite Lego set: a mini figure of me sat in my chair reading, with a nice cup of tea ☕📚 with the Room of Requirement in the background)

Finally finished - I definitely needed the summer hols for the time and headspace, but it was absolutely worth it. Absolutely loved The Eagle and the Heart.

Recommended by the Hogwarts Professor, so I knew it would be worth a look. Enjoyed learning more about her past and her philanthropy. And I love the idea of a pen changing the world.

This is the best example I’ve seen of early language learning - pure imitation of sound, gesture and expression. Imitation - how children learn most things.
Every time I watch this video, it brings me pure joy and love.

Sharon suffered something so many women recognised: being completely ignored for her opinion, then when she says forget it then, becoming the next potential traitor in the eyes for all the men that originally talked over her.
Replying to @Baddiel
I felt so sorry for Sharon tonight. Fast coming to the conclusion they’re a bit feral. First time it’s ever made me feel uncomfortable.

A favourite oak, summer and autumn 💚🌳🧡 Ramification was originally the manner or pattern of branching in a tree & so came to mean the subdivision/extension of ideas & arguments🌳 Oak trees offer beautiful arboreal ramification. #etymology

Very much matches what we hear in focus groups with young people, this sense of feeling numb both by how hard it is to get a job and dispiriting applications, but also feelings of precarity in jobs.
"It makes you question the effort you put in." After applying to more than 115 jobs, graduate Anna describes her experiences of the "demoralising" job market and frustration of being left in a "void of no feedback". #Newsnight

Every ‘Word of Mouth’ that I’m part of teaches me something through acts of reading, writing, speaking and listening. Interdependence exemplified. Reading a book, listening to previous interviews, discussing/planning, writing questions, listening to replies from interviewee.

Soundtrack of the Day (Part 2): Levelling the Land (35th Anniversary Remix) by @the_levellers The new mix adds real punch and clarity, but never loses the heart of the record. The joy, the anger, the hope, the defiance, they're all still here, just hitting harder than ever.

Chronic anxiety can make ordinary situations feel threatening because your brain is constantly on alert for things that could go wrong. The problem is that these threats are often uncertain or hypothetical, but the fear they produce is very real.
