I read The Richest Man in Babylon for the first time in Dec 2022. Since then, I’ve gone on to read it at the start of every year. I share what I think is the most important lesson from this book in my book synthesis series here. open.substack.com/pub/kanimo…

North & South covered (see previous post) We keep going lower in our lack of collective dignity and it’s the most disgusting thing to see. From money, to hotel rooms, to rice & noodles, to kuli-kuli, to shirts and caps & now big panties. Nicely done 👍

My second book synthesis is out on substack. Here I wrote lessons from one of my favorite books ever - The Alchemist Have a read and share your thoughts. kanimoewrites.substack.com/p…

One of biggest lessons I learned is: The most reliable asset I’ve seen is not a stock, investment or enterprise. - It is a person who keeps improving their ability to be useful - Skills compound; character compounds; good decision making compounds. You are your primary asset!.

First, tax laws were forged behind closed doors. Now, the Electoral Act amendment vote that shapes your future is being manipulated in plain sight. When power stops fearing consequences, citizens pay the price. This is institutional contempt for you.
A House of Reps committee has confirmed that key provisions of Nigeria’s new tax laws were illegally altered after parliamentary approval. Yet, Bola Tinubu and Taiwo Oyedele are pushing ahead to implement Nigeria’s first forged tax law.

"There is a dangerous turning point in every democracy. It is the moment when leaders stop fearing the people. "It does not happen in one fell swoop, but bit by bit, as those in power realize there are no real consequences for overstepping. "When that happens, governance becomes secondary, and politics becomes center stage. Institutions meant to check power begin to protect it instead. "Nigeria is there already, and that should really worry you." nitter.gq/i/status/2023840236178…

Just to be clear and to have it on record, this is the federal minister of the FCT arguably declaring in public, his intentions to interfere in the upcoming Abuja Municipal elections. By saying “I will not allow…” he tacitly admits that it is reasonably within his power as FCT minister to act with intent and deploy the vested authority and resources available to him in order to alter or affect the outcome of said elections and potentially subvert the sovereign will of the voting populace. @inecnigeria just drawing your attention. I believe election interference is a crime. I’m certain he is not protected by any immunity clause known to Nigerians. Bear three words in mind : Law. Order. Consequences. #CountryFirst #ANewNigeriaIsPossible
