14% of all Christmas Trees are just really flamboyant Resto Druids.🎄
I invented a new word today. "FOMO Edition" for the version of a game preorder that permits access to the game X days early. I have hope for this one. It might catch on.
This is literally one of the best videos I have ever seen about how we think, what it means for social media, and *what we can do about it*. This is one of my favorite topics and I have heard and read a great deal about it.
Cannot recommend it enough.

This is really damn cool.
Can't wait to see what they do with it with things like leaves.

people think they'll be the statistical anomaly when consequences are good (winning the lottery) but no one thinks they'll be the statistical anomaly when consequences are bad (getting your baseball stolen on national television)

some of the grinds in TWW for completionists are a bit crazy. For example 500 bountiful delves, the siren isle currency, new reputations (with paragon box mounts again), etc. Hope Blizzard makes some of these easier to obtain because they are just mindless grinds - aka not fun.

They called me crazy, now here we are
Glad to see Blizzard go in this direction
My last post got a lot of people riled up. I explicitly said that in the ~1 year until next expansion Blizzard should improve the base UI. That's why I didn't ask for this change immediately as I agree current base UI is way too lacking. I don't think it is that hard for Blizzard to do. See what addons people mostly use (dmg meter, buff/debuff tracking, nameplates, unitframes, etc) -> make it baseline.
The change I suggested would:
a) Make the game WAY more accessible to new players
b) No more wipes due to 'wrong WA' or outdated addon, etc
c) Way better FPS
d) 'Force' Blizzard to improve base UI, as currently with addons being so prevalent the incentive is diminished
e) Easy to share UIs with friends + keep your UI when changing PC or whatever without need to copy it over
f) Blizzard can design Bosses/Dungeons without having to worry about addons. It might be a rough ride at the start, but I am sure they will quickly realize what works and what doesn't with some PTR testing and a bit of trial and error
I think the first point especially is crucial for the longevity of the game. As a mental test, imagine if you lost your entire UI right now - how daunting it would feel to remake it from scratch... That's what any new player faces.
I expect this change would be unpopular at the start, but long-term the benefits outway the negatives.
PS: Outside of instances I think addons are fine. So you can still have your handy notes, or crafting addons etc. Those are nice perks, but don't affect performance.

As meme-y as people will get, this tier was still almost 300 more pulls than Aberrus was less than two years ago.

I love the new swirlies, but hate that they aren't even applied consistently. There are just as many mechanics using old harder to see ones EVEN in new dungeon.
Half measures don't work. Use them everywhere or what's the point.
