I am pro self custody. I personally use Tangem and KasSigner since these are the only ones i have the most trust in and accept their trade offs. Everyone else needs to do their own research and come to their own thoughts of what is best for them. I only share what I am doing to hopefully help because at the very least what I have been doing works for me great. $KAS

Are you still pro Tangem?

KEYSTONE TO DESTROY 18,835 HARDWARE WALLETS AFTER HACKERS STEAL DEVICE AUTHENTICATION KEY Keystone has confirmed it will destroy 18,835 hardware wallets in existing inventory after attackers stole the cryptographic key used to verify the authenticity of its devices. The breach is particularly concerning because the stolen key could allow attackers to manufacture counterfeit Keystone wallets that successfully pass the company's official authenticity checks, potentially putting users' Bitcoin at risk. The key is permanently embedded in existing devices and cannot be erased or replaced, forcing Keystone to destroy its remaining inventory, suspend shipments and manufacture new devices with a replacement key. The company says attackers exploited a vulnerability in a third-party monitoring tool on its official website on October 20, gaining access to: - 25,964 customer records containing names, contact details, shipping addresses and purchase information. - 12,873 abandoned checkout records containing potentially sensitive customer information. Keystone also acknowledged that its automated data deletion system had failed, leaving customer information stored beyond its stated retention period. The company says recovery phrases, private keys and transaction signing were not compromised. Devices delivered before October 20 remain unaffected, but customers receiving devices with the old authentication key after that date are advised to seek additional verification. Keystone has suspended shipments, begun notifying affected customers and is moving production to a new authentication key.

five things from this week in Kaspa dev. i have numbered them to appear organized. 1 / KCC standards KCC1, KCC2 and KCC20 are now Final. devs have shared conventions for how covenants, permissions and fungible tokens work together, ready for wallets and apps to adopt. xitter.cf/kccforum/status/211292… 2 / wallet public keys @OriNewman proposed a wallet convention that keeps public keys hidden until funds are spent, reducing their exposure to future quantum attackers. originally KIP22, it’s now under review as a KCC. spending still reveals the key. github.com/kaspanet/kccs/pul… 3 / Kaspa Privacy Initiative @WellerOlaf shared a private-payment experiment on testnet, followed by a recovery test. wallets were restored and the full test balance withdrawn with the original app controller disabled. the rest of the test infrastructure stayed available. still experimental. github.com/olafweller/kaspa-… 4 / Kastle @KastleWallet added support for dotK names. users can view, register and transfer their .k names inside the wallet. the mobile update is rolling out, with name support also available in the extension. xitter.cf/KastleWallet/status/21… 5 / KaspaDollar @asaefstroem is leading a new initiative to build an overcollateralized stablecoin on Kaspa, backing each dollar of tokens with more than a dollar of collateral. development, research and an independent audit are still ahead. xitter.cf/KaspaDollar/status/211…
Today we are introducing KaspaDollar, an initiative led by core developer @asaefstroem to build the first decentralized stablecoin on the $KAS network. The developments around @kccforum and the Toccata hardfork have considerably widened what Kaspa is capable of. Capability alone, however, does not make an ecosystem. Decentralized finance requires a unit of account that holds its value, and until Kaspa has a stablecoin of its own, every application built on it will remain dependent on assets issued elsewhere. The design we intend to follow is the decentralized, overcollateralized stablecoin: a pattern whose security properties have been examined and tested across the industry for the better part of a decade. With the support of the core team, we consider the conditions right to bring it to Kaspa. Realizing this requires development, an independent audit, further research, and the operational work of taking a protocol from specification to production. To fund it, we are opening a fundraiser with a target of 5,000,000 KAS. Contributions are made directly to the fundraising address published on the website. Should the target not be reached by 1 January 2027, every contribution will be returned to the address from which it was sent. Up until that point, this account will share the plans, details and progress of the work as it develops.

i’ll do everything in my power on the technical side to help this initiative move forward and navigate any protocol-level obstacles along the way. on a personal note, Alex has a rare mix of technical depth, bizdev talent and deep Kaspa knowledge. i honestly can’t think of anyone better suited to lead it, and i really appreciate him taking this on

After much consideration. The main thing that gets reduced when switching to PWA is reliability of notifications. This alone is a deal breaker for me. My thought is this. KaChat needs to be able to scale and have the least amount of friction. Adding KaPosts to KaChat increased the age barrier from 4+ to 16+ on app stores. Having everything in 1 app introduces more opportunity for bugs since its trying to do so many things. To begin KaPosts will be leaving KaChat to be its own standalone app. What also needs to leave is public chat rooms. KaChat will become exclusively meant for chatting and group chats fully encrypted. Expect Cold Storage to also get its own app including a dedicated app just for wallet activity. I am one person trying to carry the torch here to have wonderful apps that showcases Kaspa speed and programability. Thank you for bearing with me during these growing pains. I am always open to feedback. Thank you for all your support! KaChat is still just getting started. Much more to come! kaspa:native
A massive update is coming to KaChat. $KAS KaChat will be moving away from App Store and Playstore support to instead ensure that desktop can not only work on your computer but also on your phone as a PWA. This will allow me as just one person to be able to easily push updates fix bugs and add much more features without dealing the restrictions of stores. You can already start using this KaChat version on your phone today! Go to desktop.kachat.app/ and add it to your home screen and it should already function and feel like the mobile version. Please start reporting bugs if you find any to [email protected] or just DM me to my .kachat domain kaspasilver in the app.

Well done, @AlbertaHashX ! Thanks for helping to secure the network! DYK? Canada is one of the world's most prominent hubs for cryptocurrency mining, ranking as the fourth-largest $BTC mining destination globally (trailing behind the United States, China, and Kazakhstan) And all hail the Canadian 🇨🇦 Kaspains! Who else is a proud Canuck in here!?

Truthfulness will prevail. Always does.
My prophecy: Kaspa core will keep researching, budling and delivering. Yonatan will continue to lead it in terms of vision, far-reaching long-term research and short-term endless day-to-day brainstorming. Core R&D will continue to scale and expand to wider and wider circles. Builders and developers will keep joining L2 testnets and build dapps which utilize Kaspa’s inherent superiorities. Kaspa’s marketing will decentralize more and more. There will be no central voice. As part of the many voices, core members will find ways to communicate their vision and nuanced discussions to the broader crypto community. Truthfulness will prevail. Kaspa core will identify with people who actively contribute, build, research and think about Kaspa from the moment they wake up until the moment they fall asleep. Educators, pedagogues and evangelizers will do what they do best and communicate at different levels based on their knowledge and expertise. I will keep researching, thinking, developing and posting about Kaspa and speak as directly, accurately and truthfully as I can. I love you all (not a prophecy). We just started.

$KAS Just curious if anyone has been messing with the new quantum resistant addresses yet. Have you found out that at least from my understanding any Kaspa domains will not work with these type of addresses?

$KAS Stronger quantum resistant addresses coming to KaChat very soon! All you need to do is simply generate a new spend address. All new spend addresses have the upgrade. Send Kaspa to it and don't send anything out and that address will remain protected. Upgraded addresses start with kaspa:p... while the legacy addresses that always expose the public key start with kaspa:q...

The dollar is not going away its going to become digital. If you are going to use digital dollars you need a base layer that values your self sovereignty, has high censorship resistance and works at the speed of the internet. This is not to say your digital dollar will inherit all these qualities but at the very least it means digital dollars is not the end goal its simply a tool to allow you to easily plug in and out of the fiat system at will. This is why I focus on kaspa:native
