This is the hardest album I’ve had to make so far. It started off as a completely different project, then life happened and redirected it. I’ve always prided myself on being very honest in my music, but it took everything in me to write songs like Gold Dust, Fruit of the Womb, Angel (that second verse, my God!) and The Fall. Beyond just struggling to articulate certain feelings, I also found myself wondering whether I was oversharing or not. But my goal with music has always been to share enough of myself in the hope that it finds people like me, in the same way my favourite artists found me. I’m glad we were able to bring KANI: A Bantama Story to life in the way we did. Love to all the producers, artists and creatives who helped bring this project together. Big love to my creative director, A&R and Co-Creator, Evans Kafui Offori, and the entire @frayedjacket_ca . Love to @claythemogul and the whole team at @Goldriveroffice for the handholding. Love to @rain_labs and @virginmusicafrica for having my back. And love to all the platforms that have shown the project so much love. But most importantly, to you… my listeners.
