I'm less impressed by how @ossoff speaks (though he's terrific at that too) and more impressed by what he says. This 2-minute clip is the best explanation of Trump corruption that I've ever heard. His explanation of the Russian dirty deals is so accurate and so clear. He knows the facts cold. And he explains them better than I can.
He has that Obama elocution.

Trump loyalists can’t say who won the 2020 election. Putin loyalists can’t say who started the Russia-Ukraine war.
Q: Putin right now kills Ukrainian civilians in their apartments, on buses, in schools. Did you bring that up? TRUMP: I did bring that up, and I always bring it up the other way. The other way they kill too. Russia is losing civilians also

You know, this really is a perfect illustration of the state of the world today. Russia -- the very same Russia that unleashed the biggest bloodbath in Europe since the time of Adolf Hitler, that occupied the once quiet, cozy Ukrainian town of Oleshky on the banks of the Dnipro River, that forced 90% of its population to flee, that devastated the town (yes, Oleshky was catastrophically flooded following the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam in 2023!), that brought the remaining residents TO THE BRINK OF STARVATION, that couldn't have cared less about them for all these years, that surrounded the town and the roads in and out with minefields, that rejected every Ukrainian proposal for a local ceasefire to rescue the people dying there, that was still shooting down Ukrainian drones trying to deliver food and medicine to Oleshky just weeks ago, and that finally agreed to a ceasefire and evacuation only to please Donald Trump ahead of his elections... ...that EXACT SAME Russia is now standing before the cameras at the White House WITH THE MOST POMPOUS AND SELF-RIGHTEOUS LOOK ON ITS FUCKING FACE, theatrically wringing its hands like a character in an ancient Greek tragedy, and presenting Melania Trump with "touching little gifts" from the "rescued children" of Oleshky. We are living through one of the most utterly disgusting, dumbest, and grotesquely immoral eras in human history.

Just shocking that Trump invited to the White House an emissary from Putin, a brutal dictator, who has sustain an imperialist war of annexation and terrorism in Ukraine for nearly five years.

Video from last night of Kathy Hochul and Letitia James celebrating Mike Lawler’s loss. Normally I wouldn’t post salt-in-the-wound footage. But after having reviewed 100s of Lawler tweets in which he attacked, mocked, and insulted these women, I’m making an exception. #NY17

One night, when James Talarico was still a baby, his mother packed their things into a little Ford Escort (this is so Texas!) and drove to the hotel where she worked. His father had become violent again. Tamara asked the hotel manager if she and her baby could stay in one of the rooms. The manager agreed, and they stayed at the hotel until Tamara found a small apartment in East Austin. Sadly, there was no room for a nursery, so she put James’s crib in her closet. Then she decorated it with toys and pictures. Years later, when James told the story, he said his mother was proud of that closet. As far as she was concerned, she had made her son a nursery. Tamara was a preacher’s daughter from Laredo. She had left home at 19 and moved to Austin, where she met James’s biological father. James was barely a year old when she left him. She later met a man named Mark Talarico, who adopted James and gave him the last name that appeared on the Texas ballot. Isitoshe, At church in North Austin, they knew him as Jimmy. A pastor who met him when he was in kindergarten remembered him putting on puppet shows with another pastor. Years later, James was back in a room full of children, this time as the sixth-grade language arts teacher at Rhodes Middle School on the west side of San Antonio. You may have heard him say in his speeches “if you can be a middle school teacher, politics is easy….” When James ran for the Texas House in 2018, he talked about the families of the children he had taught. When he ran for the U.S. Senate, he shared an old photo of himself with his mother. It was taken in that little East Austin apartment, back when the two of them had just started over. On Tuesday night, in the same city where his mother once asked a hotel manager for a room, James Talarico walked onto a stage as Texas’s senator-elect at the age of 37 The last time Texas elected a Democrat to the U.S. Senate, Tamara’s little boy had not been born yet. Well, it could have been any one of 100 reasons Ms. “shut up” reporter was voted out but whatever it took the country is so much better off without her.
insane that this 10 year old 100% caused her to lose her reelection

Oh look, we found more ballot fraud. What? It’s Republicans AGAIN! You don’t say 🤦🏻‍♀️ “Aidan Rowan, a member of the Rockland County Republicans Executive Committee, chair of the Rockland Young Republicans and Republican Supervisor George Hoehmann's campaign manager, was arrested Nov. 4, the day after Election Day and arraigned in Clarkstown Town Court on felony charges related to allegations of ballot fraud in the June primary.” Rowan was also an associate of Mike Lawler. lohud.com/story/news/crime/2…

I'm all for providing humanitarian assistance to Ukrainians. But I find it appalling that Putin's envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, is being welcomed to the White House today. Why does one necessitate the other?

Beyond tragic. Ukrainian delegation is forced to stand by the russian war criminals who represent the terrorist state responsible for kidnapping Ukrainian children, killing civilians, and attempting to genocide the entire nation. I understand that Melania wants to earn brownie points. But you don't do it at the expense of an already suffering victim. Shameful and despicable.

In a gerrymandered district, our campaign was within a single point of winning. Thank you to everyone who worked to make that a reality. I am immensely grateful. I will continue to fight for the people of TN and together our movement is just getting started.

There’s a real irony in Republicans hoping that the late mail votes in Mississippi will rescue Cindy Hyde-Smith — just months after the RNC sued to void Mississippi’s ability to count late-arriving votes and lost at SCOTUS, 5-4.

Watching Kirill Dmitriev, head of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, speak from a White House podium bearing the U.S. presidential seal while quoting Vladimir Putin is an image I will never forget. Dmitriev praised Maria Lvova-Belova as a great humanitarian. She is wanted by the International Criminal Court for alleged war crimes involving the unlawful deportation and transfer of Ukrainian children. He then presented Melania Trump with a painting reportedly made by a girl who, according to him, “chose to remain in Russia.” It read: “I love Melania.” Melania Trump went on to praise Newsmax for its integrity in covering the operation in Russian-occupied Oleshky, where the outlet’s journalists traveled under Russian military guidance. And to complete the scene, Davyd Arakhamia, head of Zelenskyy’s Servant of the People parliamentary faction, joined from the Ukrainian side to praise Melania Trump. All of this at the White House. Russia’s war against Ukraine continues.

Criminal. Thank you, @RepStenyHoyer, for calling the Pentagon out on this. This is not Hegseth's money. This is the American people's money appropriated through a democratic process.
It is inconceivable that $400 million in appropriated military assistance still hasn’t been delivered to Ukraine. I urge the Pentagon to secure the delivery of this essential equipment right away in order to save lives, protect civilians, & help bring about the victory that must be this war’s end. hoyer.house.gov/media/press-…

BREAKING: Marco Rubio is reportedly considering resigning! The rats appear to be preparing to flee the sinking ship? According to The Independent, Marco Rubio may be considering abandoning the Trump admin after Republicans’ disastrous midterm losses. He reportedly wants to distance himself from Trump’s Iran war and position himself for a 2028 presidential run against JD Vance. Here’s the irony: Rubio may want to escape Trump’s political baggage after spending years helping carry it. You can jump off a sinking ship. That doesn’t mean you weren’t part of the crew that steered it into the iceberg.
