I'm seeing quite a bit of comment about this, so I want to make a couple of points.
I'm not owed eternal agreement from any actor who once played a character I created. The idea is as ludicrous as me checking with the boss I had when I was twenty-one for what opinions I should hold these days.
Emma Watson and her co-stars have every right to embrace gender identity ideology. Such beliefs are legally protected, and I wouldn't want to see any of them threatened with loss of work, or violence, or death, because of them.
However, Emma and Dan in particular have both made it clear over the last few years that they think our former professional association gives them a particular right - nay, obligation - to critique me and my views in public. Years after they finished acting in Potter, they continue to assume the role of de facto spokespeople for the world I created.
When you've known people since they were ten years old it's hard to shake a certain protectiveness. Until quite recently, I hadn't managed to throw off the memory of children who needed to be gently coaxed through their dialogue in a big scary film studio. For the past few years, I've repeatedly declined invitations from journalists to comment on Emma specifically, most notably on the Witch Trials of JK Rowling. Ironically, I told the producers that I didn't want her to be hounded as the result of anything I said.
The television presenter in the attached clip highlights Emma's 'all witches' speech, and in truth, that was a turning point for me, but it had a postscript that hurt far more than the speech itself. Emma asked someone to pass on a handwritten note from her to me, which contained the single sentence 'I'm so sorry for what you're going through' (she has my phone number). This was back when the death, rape and torture threats against me were at their peak, at a time when my personal security measures had had to be tightened considerably and I was constantly worried for my family's safety. Emma had just publicly poured more petrol on the flames, yet thought a one line expression of concern from her would reassure me of her fundamental sympathy and kindness.
Like other people who've never experienced adult life uncushioned by wealth and fame, Emma has so little experience of real life she's ignorant of how ignorant she is. She'll never need a homeless shelter. She's never going to be placed on a mixed sex public hospital ward. I'd be astounded if she's been in a high street changing room since childhood. Her 'public bathroom' is single occupancy and comes with a security man standing guard outside the door. Has she had to strip off in a newly mixed-sex changing room at a council-run swimming pool? Is she ever likely to need a state-run rape crisis centre that refuses to guarantee an all-female service? To find herself sharing a prison cell with a male rapist who's identified into the women's prison?
I wasn't a multimillionaire at fourteen. I lived in poverty while writing the book that made Emma famous. I therefore understand from my own life experience what the trashing of women's rights in which Emma has so enthusiastically participated means to women and girls without her privileges.
The greatest irony here is that, had Emma not decided in her most recent interview to declare that she loves and treasures me - a change of tack I suspect she's adopted because she's noticed full-throated condemnation of me is no longer quite as fashionable as it was - I might never have been this honest.
Adults can't expect to cosy up to an activist movement that regularly calls for a friend's assassination, then assert their right to the former friend's love, as though the friend was in fact their mother. Emma is rightly free to disagree with me and indeed to discuss her feelings about me in public - but I have the same right, and I've finally decided to exercise it.
“I think she’s going to find that you can’t sit on the fence... The real win is when ordinary people can say these things.”

Of all the many evil betrayals I’ve seen in the last 60 years I’ve been alive, I’m struggling to think of any that match what Trump and Musk did to innocent Ukrainian citizens while Putin was sending missiles this way. A trio to live on in infamy well after I am gone
I’m not sure “we” made those choices. Pretty sure incompetent politicians did.
A wake up call for all of us in the UK about the impact of the choices that we have made to hollow out our defences and national resilience since the end of the Cold War - and not decisively reverse that trend even as the threat from Russia returned 👇

Yes, he said this, word for word, I checked
Firstly it's a downright lie, as not a single one of them crossed to the mainland (they need a visa from Ceuta and if they had one, why put themselves through the risk of drowning etc, they would have travelled legally on it long ago)
Secondly and more widely, I'm sorry but it takes a particular kind of gall to constantly fan these often racist flames, when 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 were basically economic migrants, looking for a better life, fleeing from conflict and poverty in Sri Lanka. The only difference is his parents were much luckier than the people he constantly whips up hate against (for reasons best known to himself) in that the UK 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 came to in the 80s and he grew up in was a much more welcoming place for "migrants," economic or otherwise
My pub mates talk better footy punditry than Micah Richard’s. @BBC surely there is better talent in your pool?

If Four pints of standard 5% lager equal about 11 to 12.8 units. Therefore, it will take roughly 11 to 13 hours for the alcohol to completely leave your bloodstream, so that driving both ways to work people will be driving over the limit, now look at lost productivity on Monday

Marie, you're right to focus on the rules.
The Cabinet cannot simply appoint a Labour leader.
A challenger would need to secure the required nominations, a contest would need to be triggered, and members would ultimately have their say.
But perhaps that's not the most important question.
The more interesting question is this:
If a Prime Minister who rebuilt the party, won a landslide and is delivering key manifesto commitments can be challenged less than two years after victory, what message does that send?
To members.
To voters.
To future leaders.
Because parties rarely damage themselves by following the rules.
They damage themselves when ambition becomes more important than purpose.

Surely it’s in the constitution of the Labour Party; I don’t think the Cabinet decide - I might be wrong but I hope not! 🤞
Context is everything.
Who the press card belongs to:
The press card in Farage’s post clearly shows a National Union of Journalists card with the name “Martin Godwin” and a Guardian‑style accreditation.
That matches Martin Godwin, a long‑standing Guardian photographer who regularly shoots political assignments.
Link to the Dulwich racism coverage
The Dulwich racism allegations against Farage were reported by multiple outlets but the core long‑form pieces were in the Guardian in late 2025, based on accounts from former schoolmates.
Those articles are illustrated with photographs credited “Photograph: Martin Godwin/The Guardian,” including the widely shared image of Farage with the caption about him saying “Hitler was right”.
So yes: Farage is currently posting a picture of the press pass of the same Guardian photographer whose work was used on the Dulwich racism stories that helped put those schoolmate accusations into the spotlight.
Context matters Faragski...

When a man compares himself to Jesus and erects golden statues of himself, perhaps you can understand why Americans might see idolatry.
A remarkable human.

Too on point not to share, “Aussie reply to Trump rant about NATO not being there for us.
Mate. You run a country with 600,000 homeless people sleeping on the street tonight. A country where 40% of adults can't cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money. A country where insulin costs more than a car payment and people are rationing it to survive. A country where medical debt is the number 1 cause of bankruptcy. A country where women are dying in hospital car parks because doctors are too scared of abortion laws to treat a miscarriage.
You lock up more of your own citizens than any nation on earth. More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea. The land of the free has 2 million people in cages, and a quarter of them haven't even been convicted of anything. They're just too poor to make bail.
Your life expectancy is going backwards. You're the only developed nation where that's happening. Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba's. Your kids do active shooter drills between maths and English while you sell the gunmaker's stock to your mates.
Your minimum wage hasn't moved in 15 years. You've got teachers working 2 jobs and veterans sleeping under bridges and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that didn't attack you.
And you’ve got a convicted felon, adjudicating raping, paedophile protecting, porn star shagging insurrectionist running the biggest dumpster fire war campaign since the Taliban thanked you very much for losing again.
And you're calling Greenland poorly run?
Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. Nobody goes bankrupt there because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because their insurance said no.
"NATO wasn't there when we needed them." When exactly was that, champ? September 11? Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU. Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU. Australia wasn't even in NATO and we still showed up. For 20 years.
And you pulled out at 2am without telling anyone and left them to deal with the mess.
So maybe before you start calling other countries poorly run, have a look at your own backyard, you spray-tanned aluminium siding salesman. The only thing poorly run in this picture is your fucking mouth. Credit (borrowed from) Jim Scroggins - original author 📷 unknown”
2/2 I rarely went to MacDonalds but did go to Pizza Express Wokingham. I did touch the police car and this is addressed in my upcoming book.
Now that’s cleared up I wish to address the murder of 200 children in a single missile strike in Iran.
1/2 I am aware of reports that in 1981 I acquired a road traffic cone and placed it on the roof of a stationery police car in Staines High Street near MacDonalds.
I never met that cone and request you stop disrespecting me.
