This whole premise is severely flawed. Imagine if, 1 year after the civil war started, you said “How could anyone not see how Lincoln is worse, look how awful things are?” That would be essentially an objectively true statement. The slaves were still enslaved and now there was violence on a mass scale for everyone else. So does the make Lincoln the wrong pick? The “progressive” status quo that has infested all of our institutions, not just in America but globally, is so morally repugnant as to make almost any cost worth it to end it. Where people are afforded dignity, moral consideration, and compassion on the basis of if they belonged to the progressives favored demographic groups. And anyone who opposed the status quo was hounded out of polite society, no matter how minor the opposition. The very foundation that underlies social progressivism is rotten. It’s rooted in bigotry and repression. This is not progressivisms only flaw of course. After all, we’ve all seen progressives fall over themselves to excuse crime and have more compassion for murders and criminals than someone wearing a MAGA hat, but documenting the totality of progressive failures isn’t the point of this post. That would need to be a separate discussion. In the narrow minded paradigm of the OPs post, yeah, Trump is WAY worse. Not even close. Just like the country was WAY worse off during the civil war than before. Now, Trump is not Lincoln. He is not a good man. He does not have a good vision. But he is taking a sledgehammer to the status quo. I personally think he went too far to be worthwhile, specifically when he tried to steal the 2020 election and of course so many of the things he’s done since January 20th 2025. But I very much understand those who voted for him. He is not the hero we need, he is the hero we deserve.

It's insane to me how cocky people get after winning an election nowadays given how the nonstop whiplash from one election to the next should have humbled people by now "Texas is a blue state now!" Trump got reelected 4 years after trying to overthrow the government

Back in October of last year, Jennifer Welch—who recently went viral for laughing at the idea of “digging up Charlie Kirk and doing it again”—told democrats to “get on board” with celebrating Charlie’s murder.

@grok did Jennifer Welch once say democrats needed to get on board with celebrating Charlie Kirk’s death?

Jenner Welch and Angie Sullivan, this is repulsive. Regardless of anyone’s political position, the mirth you express about the brutal murder of another human being is repugnant. It is a disgusting display of a complete lack of empathy, respect for human life, compassion, maturity, and personal morals. There is no personal standard being upheld by either of you. @Hanover_Square Press, @YouTube @ApplePodcasts

A new law that risks criminalising parents who question whether their children are trans must be scrapped, MPs, peers and experts have demanded. ‘Gender’, as opposed to sex, is an anti-scientific myth. If a child with a penis announces that he is really a girl, parents and teachers have a positive duty to educate him in the scientific truth that he is a boy. Of course no parent should use physical or psychological abuse for any reason. But if anyone should be prosecuted it is those who abuse their duty of care by encouraging children in the anti-scientific delusion that they can choose their own sex. telegraph.co.uk/politics/202…

You know what's really insulting about this? It's the standard across the board for victim stats. Women, the minority. Men and boys the overwhelming majority. And on any channel of the UN does it mention men and boys being the majority? NO Does it mention them at all? NO

According to the same UN report, women and girls accounted for one in four of over 37,000 civilian deaths in 2025. Men and boys were the remaining three-quarters. The report notes men are still likelier to be killed. unwomen.org/en/articles/fa…

The ideology is misandry, just to be clear.
The idea that initially describing a sexual encounter as consensual, only to re-interpret it as Rape sometime later, should say nothing about the credibility of the Survivor's account -- because something something "trauma" -- is totally anti-empirical, ideology-drenched nonsense

Good. To hell with California and their damn leftists. Hopefully they will learn a lesson. But undoubtedly they won’t.
this California wealth tax thing is just incredible. so in October 2025, a California healthcare union proposed a "one time" 5% tax on any billionaire's wealth. the ballot measure will be voted on next month. In early December 2025, California announced that it would be a retroactive tax if passed, applying to anyone with CA residency as of Jan 1, 2026. The objective is to pay for Medi-Cal, California's incredibly dysfunctional healthcare system. (which also functions as a glorified welfare apparatus, but that's a discussion for another time). polls reveal that the CA electorate is split around 50/50 on the tax, but prediction markets only give Prop 40 a ~23% chance of passing (there are competing measures on the ballet that would nullify it). there are 200 billionaires in CA, worth collectively somewhere between $2.3 and $2.6 trillion. 5% of that is around $100b, accounting for a small amount of attrition. proponents of the tax forecasted a significant windfall, assuming only a 10% departure rate. supporters thought they were being clever with the retroactive concept. no billionares would leave CA in the few short months between the tax being proposed and the residency cutoff date, without the tax even having passed yet, right? well as it turns out, they did. a new paper [1] from two academics at Stanford called "The Net Present Value of the California Billionaire Tax Act", argues that not only did more billionaires leave due to the proposed tax than its proponents expected, but that the value of the tax, if it does pass, is actually negative. proponents of the tax only assumed 10% avoidance, that is, only 10% of the taxable base of targeted billionaires would leave CA within the very short Oct-Dec 2025 window. Jaros and Rauh, the Stanford academics, find that a lower bound of 28.6% of the taxable base managed to leave. just based on known departures, those departures total $577b in net worth, or $28.8b in potential tax lost. this of course does not capture everyone (many left without announcing their departure), so the authors normalize to departure rates estimated from other wealth tax events, and apply other discounts for litigation, arriving arrive at a figure of only $28-$36b in forecasted tax revenues. but this isn't all! all of the income taxes paid by the departed billionaires are also forsaken. the authors estimate that CA billionaires pay $3.3- 5.8b in annual income taxes. they assume a midpoint of $2b lost in annual collections from departed billionaires. the net present value of that lost income stream is -$68.9 billion. so when you add it all up you get: + $30b one-time tax windfall (estimated) - $69b in present value of lost future income taxes = - 38.9b overall net present value of the tax of course, this analysis is highly estimate driven. the authors simulate the parameters 100k times and find a negative NPV of the implemented tax 85 percent of the time. and if the tax doesn't pass, which it's not looking like it will, California still ended up losing at least $577b in departed net worth, and they have permanently poisoned the well with entrepreneurs who will now worry about future wealth taxes. Western liberals imported the third world into France and other countries in the name of diversity and compassion. They ignored fundamental questions of assimilation and compatibility. They were told it would lead to this and they didn't listen. I pray that France, a beautiful country of amazing people, will stop this madness before more of its landmarks burn. And I hope Americans are paying attention. This is the future congressional Democrats seek for your country.
