The Halloween spirit was in full swing at Harbor Hills and South Bay Gardens! Our public housing communities came together this week for some spooktacular fun. From a Trunk or Treat and creative costumes to candy and plenty of smiles, residents showed up ready to celebrate and have a frightfully good time. It’s moments like these that remind us of what community is all about, bringing neighbors together, creating memories, and connecting. Thank you to everyone who joined in and helped make both events so special! #HarborHills #SouthBayGardens #HalloweenFun #FlashbackFriday

Happy Housing America Month! This month, alongside @NAHROnational, we’re celebrating the power of affordable housing to strengthen communities, create opportunities, and build a brighter future for all. Last week’s groundbreaking for Sankofa Place at Centinela is a powerful example of what’s possible when non-profit organizations, affordable housing developers, public agencies, and community partners come together around a shared vision. Developed jointly by @VCHC, @LincHousing, and the @SJLI_CA, this 120-unit affordable housing and community development project will also serve as the new community-serving headquarters for the Social Justice Learning Institute. We’re proud to be an investment partner, awarding $5.12 million in No Place Like Home funds to help make this vision a reality. Sankofa Place at Centinela represents more than new homes. It reflects the impact of collaboration, community-centered investment, and a shared commitment to creating places where people can thrive. This Housing America Month, we celebrate the organizations, partners, and housing professionals working every day to expand access to affordable housing and strengthen communities. #HousingAmericaMonth #AffordableHousing #PartnershipsThatMakeADifference

At the 39th Annual LA County Productivity and Quality Awards (PQA) ceremony held early this month, we were recognized for two prominent programs: Resilient Altadena Businesses Recover & Rebuild (the Altadena Disaster Relief Small Business Loan Program) and Keeping Teens Plugged in to the Future (The North Stars YMCA Teen Tech Center). The PQA Program honors departmental productivity and quality improvement efforts deserving recognition. The Altadena Disaster Relief Small Business Loan Program provided 14 local businesses with $75K loans to help recover, rebuild, and move forward following the Eaton Fire. The North Stars YMCA Teen Tech Center at our Carmelitos Public Housing Development creates a free, state-of-the-art space where youth can explore technology, creativity, entrepreneurship, and future careers. These awards are about what we can accomplish together. This is made possible through collaboration, trusted partnerships, and a community committed to helping one another.
