What a surprise... As it is now the people in power can get away with almost anything. All they have to do is to say some nice words and say they will "form alliances and work together to combat climate change". #COP26

Weโve already emitted 89% of the CO2 budget that gives us a 66% chance of staying below 1,5ยฐC. Thatโs why historic emissions not only count - they nearly make up the entire climate crisis. And yet theyโre still being almost completely ignored by media and people in power.

Just a thought, but what if there was an online pen pal/mentor match up for LGBTQIA+ peeps doing biosci fieldwork?
Working abroad for me could be isolating, occ. unsafe. I had to be closeted, and felt like I was navigating uncharted waters. I wonder if others could use support.

Deadly heatwaves, floods, storms, wildfires, droughts, crop failures...
This is not โthe new normalโ.
Weโre at the very beginning of a climate and ecological emergency, and extreme weather events will only become more and more frequent.
