The Seahawks have acquired the 8-time Pro Bowl guard from Indianapolis for:
• 2027 3rd-round pick
• 2028 5th-round pick
John Schneider made a HUGE move.

Of course, we JUST finished recording a podcast before the DeForest Buckner news broke... (but at least we predicted this is how the 49ers would respond). Thoughts on the Quenton Nelson trade and MORE trade options for the 49ers 👇👇👇

I think you guys will enjoy tomorrow's show. I interview long-time sports radio veteran @RickardonSports who lives in Indy and covered the Colts for years.
We had already scheduled this show, but the trade came down in time for us to react to it. Some cool insight from the Indy side of things from Jeff.
The audio episode is out now if you want an early listen - while the YouTube Live Premiere drops at 9am PT.
🎙️ NEW AUDIO EPISODE!!!
The Seahawks got Quenton Nelson. Are they done dealing with Indianapolis?
A longtime Indy sports radio veteran joins me to explain what's happening with the Colts, who could be next and whether Jonathan Taylor REALLY makes sense for Seattle.

Still can’t quite believe the Seahawks did THIS!!!!
I thought they’d wait for the deadline. Instead, they pulled off a huge move for Quentin Nelson.
• This feels like a statement to the NFC West
• Not “rest on our laurels” energy
• Nelson is elite right now, not past his prime
• Even as a rental, it upgrades the whole line
Would you call this a Super Bowl push or just smart roster building?

Getting a ton of questions about Zabel kicking out to LT while Cross is out, allowing Bradford to stay in the lineup at RG for now.
A few reasons I don't see this happening:
1) This is why they brought back Josh Jones. Don't forget how well he played in big games weeks 16-18 in place of Cross a year ago.
2) Zabel has 32" arms. Less than 10% of NFL OT's have sub-33" arms. Will Campbell has 33" arms and there were even questions about him sticking outside. Elite college LT's like Peter Skoronski have had to kick inside in the NFL because of similar length concerns.
3) Zabel played just as many games on the right side (20 combined between RG and RT) as on the left side. He should be able to make that transition pretty naturally.
I'll be shocked if the lineup on MNF is anything other than Jones - Nelson - Sundell - Zabel - Lucas.
It's also worth noting that Zabel played exactly zero snaps at OT in practice the entire week at the Senior Bowl. If NFL teams had wanted to see him there, he would have gotten rep.
Could he kick out and get you out of a game at tackle in an emergency? Probably, but it's not where you want him living.

Defense is volatile year to year. Look at the Texans.
But that’s what makes the Seahawks so special. Lost several key pieces off that SB team and it hasn’t mattered. One of my favorite teams to watch.

I covered Quenton Nelson at Notre Dame. He was the most physically overwhelming athlete I’d ever covered, and that’s before the eight straight Pro Bowls.
A running back blockbuster would be a bigger headline. But Nelson is exactly who the Seahawks need: seattletimes.com/sports/seah…

If the 49ers want to win a 6th Lombardi this year, there is a strong possibility that they will have to face teams like the Seahawks and Chiefs. Having a dominant interior offensive line is the best way match up against them.
If the Seahawks had acquired Quentin Nelson in the offseason, THEY would have gotten “Super Team” buzz
Guess when you have Quentin Nelson you don’t need any FB help.
Both the FB types singed to the PS last week - Deguara and Acker - released today.
