Fake trans mailers aimed at kids, tied to a major Trump donor. Without Republicans, who would manufacture the outrage that the GOP promise to save us from?

It’s OK to stop ordering fast food when you know it’s bad for you. You don’t owe either drive-thru your business just because the other one is worse. Same goes for political parties.

VOTE NO on authorizing Pre-K4SA for 20 years. Why should taxpayers green-light ANY government program for 20 years? Twenty years means multiple mayors, councils, administrators and budgets can come and go before voters get another real checkpoint. Quite the opposite. Every law passed should automatically sunset. If it’s valuable to the voters then WE can re-authorize it.

A Georgetown, Indiana police officer was arrested October 22 and charged with one felony count of official misconduct and two misdemeanor fraud counts over alleged misuse of Flock’s license-plate database. Investigators allege Officer Justin Craig searched his wife’s plate more than 80 times and another person’s plate nearly 250 times. The searches were allegedly given false justifications including narcotics, assault, theft and stolen vehicles to make them appear investigative. Craig disputes that his conduct violated the law or department policy and has not been convicted.

Knowing nothing else about two candidates, would you cast a vote for somebody endorsed by President Trump? Or the candidate endorsed by Ron Paul?

If Libertarians are on your ballot, we are the only Party committed to reducing debt, reducing taxes, and reducing regulations that affect your life. If not, vote independent or write yourself in. Send a message that we don’t want more of the two big-government Parties. VOTE NO on all ISD Bonds.

Lately we’ve been hearing a lot about ‘communism’ being a reason why you have to vote for the Israel-first war party. But how is Trump’s big government interventionist policies any different when Washington wants ownership, decision rights, or a cut of private business? * Government ownership: An $8.9 billion deal for 9.9% of Intel. Washington became a shareholder. * Political control of business: A government “golden share” in U.S. Steel gives Washington special influence over corporate decisions. * Government-directed investment: The Japan agreement explicitly lets the U.S. government select investments. Politicians picking winners. * Taxes on trade: The administration imposed a 15% baseline tariff on nearly all Japanese imports, government interference with voluntary exchange.

Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of insanity. In American politics, we call it “voting for the lesser evil.” Then we act surprised when evil wins.

Your grandfather spent his life building a nest egg before he passed. Grandma has $100k left in savings. At 3.7% inflation, she just lost ~$3,700 in purchasing power in this year alone. Same bank balance. Less groceries, medicine, and electricity. SAWS and CPS just increased their take as well. Quiet theft. No vote required. #EndtheFed

GM to everyone except those who want to almost double this Bond package to $775m and increase your property taxes. At yesterday’s briefing, at least four council members favored $750 million in general-obligation bonds, versus staff’s $442 million recommendation plus $175 million in separate drainage borrowing supported by higher stormwater fees. Council reached no consensus. These are proposals—not approved debt. Taxpayer significance: Staff says borrowing beyond $442 million could require a future debt-service property-tax increase under its assumptions. The smaller proposal also contemplates a separate stormwater-fee increase; “no additional property-tax rate increase” would not mean no additional household cost.

Section 219 would merge key parts of U.S. and Israeli weapons programs, making them nearly impossible to undo. It passed the House. Now it’s on the brink of passing the Senate. Only six Senators are fighting back. It’s not enough. The six Senators fighting back are Chris Van Hollen, Bernie Sanders, Jeff Merkley, Peter Welch, Ed Markey, and Elizabeth Warren. Track AIPAC is leading a coalition of people across the country that have sent 83,761 letters demanding their senators block this bill. Tell your senators to vote NO on Section 219. Send your letters now! trackaipac.link/Stop219

Good morning. SAWS leaked 16.5 billion gallons. Our Council’s solution? Leak another 29% out of our wallets. Government monopolies have zero accountability.

SAWS wants four years of rate hikes totaling 23.7%–30%. By 2030, the average monthly bill could rise from $56.68 to $70.13–$73.61 and later hikes inside Council’s approved range may avoid another Council vote. Get Involved at LPTexas.org/bexar. Fact check: Council Item 4 schedules the vote for October 8. Proposed annual increases are 6.9% in 2027, 6.5% in 2028, 4.5%–7% in 2029 and 4%–6.6% in 2030. In-range 2029–2030 adjustments would receive administrative review; exceeding the ceiling would require another Council vote. San Antonio City Council meets Thursday, October 8, at 9:00 a.m. in Municipal Plaza, 114 W. Commerce. Online and in-person speaker registration closes at 8:45 a.m. Priority items: * Item 4 — SAWS rates * Item 5 — CPS/SAWS detention-center assessments * Item 11 — Pre-K 4 SA election expense * Item 12 — $6.5 million generator contracts ift.tt/IANgx1t

KSAT now reports that BCSO had plate readers in only four patrol vehicles in 2022, but today has a reader integrated into every patrol car’s dash-camera system. BCSO declined comment because of the possible appeal. Unless the county discloses the mobile system’s vendor, database, retention period, sharing partners, search rules and audit logs, its limited Flock transparency page cannot meaningfully describe the larger surveillance operation.

It’s not entirely their fault. They’re just following the incentive to protect their privileges. A democratic welfare state is a scramble of conflicting special interests, each ready to step on everyone else’s face for their “fair” share of the loot. The old want the young to pay. Foreigners want Americans to pay. The young want the old to pay. The takers want the makers to pay. But say everyone should keep their own money and dismantle the welfare state, and everybody loses their mind. - @Rothmus

DHS appears to have committed $20M to ads praising President Trump, according to Senate appropriators. If a president needs taxpayers to buy his campaign-style commercials, the disclaimer should read: “You paid for this propaganda.”
