SpaceX Blocked A U.S. And NATO Satellite to Assist a Russian Intercept After Crippling Ukraine's Air Defenses
The Math Proves the Reality that Musk doesn't want you to see.
On Oct 13-14, SpaceX restricted Starshield/Starlink during a 39-missile Russian attack, cutting Ukrainian drone intercepts by 23% and stranding U.S. personnel in Kyiv. Forty-eight hours later (Oct 15), SpaceX blocked U.S.-licensed NRO, Space Force, and NATO radar satellite ICEYE-X36 in orbit so Russia's COSMOS 2612 weapon could intercept it (99.89%-99.98% posterior)
Our Model Demonstrates that the Russian intercept of the US/NATO ICEYE X-36 satellite (contemporaneous with the throttling of Starlink) would not have been possible, and almost certainly not been attempted, without SpaceX resources. At a material opportunity cost, Russia sprinted its COSMOS satellite to intercept ICEYE X36. Based on a previous attempt in June during which X36 maneuvered to evade COSMOS, Russia knew that this would be successful only if X36 could not maneuver. On October 15, SpaceX fixed X36 in place by issuing a collision alert for a sub-kilometer approach with its Starlink 35856 when SpaceX's own data shows that the actual distance was 4.8-5.0x as great. SpaceX issued no warning to COSMOS despite the fact that its sprint was far more threatening than the stable X36 orbit. SpaceX did not maneuver its Starlink 35856 satellite to clear the supposed collision risk. How, absent coordination with SpaceX, could Russia have known that SpaceX would take actions that (a) misrepresented the danger posed by X36, and (b) resulted in the fixing of X36 thereby enabling COSMOS's successful intercept? Thus, SpaceX was directly involved in simultaneously compromising Ukraine’s defensive and offensive capabilities. The conjunction of these two events makes innocent explanations untenable.
The Pentagon Capture & Iran Round Two Trap: Pentagon CTO Emil Michael who cashed out $7M–$35M from Musk’s inner-circle SpaceX vehicles (M8/Gigafund 0.1 and M6/Valor M33 II) and KQ Partners / xAI (selling xAIfor $5M–$25M three days before taking over CDAO/OSCand 21 days before SpaceX bought xAI, while keeping M8, M6, M9, M10 & Nomadic open) and Pete Hegseth purged rival Anthropic in two hours, surrendered combat command over US drones used to attack Iran to Starlink’s "Terms of Service," and on October 2 named Musk Co-Director of Project Meridian to design the Pentagon's "Future of Warfighting" just as America enters Iran Round Twowith depleted Patriot/THAAD magazines and Russia feeding U.S. warship/aircraft locations to Tehran.
SpaceX’s actions in Ukraine raise serious questions about its alignment with US security interests and its reliability as a cornerstone of US defense. These questions are particularly troubling given the effectively irreplaceable position SpaceX has been granted by the Hegseth/Emil Michael Pentagon.

This is the version of America I wanna see a lot more of.
People who have never lived through a catastrophe love to ask why America spends billions of dollars building giant nuclear aircraft carriers.
Tell them to ask the mothers of Banda Aceh, Indonesia what they saw on the ocean horizon in January 2005.
When the Indian Ocean tsunami killed more than two hundred thousand people, the entire coast of Sumatra was erased. Every bridge, road, and water pipe was gone. Tens of thousands of children were dying of thirst in the mud, and no truck on earth could reach them.
Two thousand miles away in Hong Kong, the U.S. aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln was on holiday port call.
Within hours of the news, young American sailors walked out of restaurants and hotels, left their vacation behind, ran back up the gangway, and pushed the ship's two nuclear reactors to flank speed.
When the Abraham Lincoln dropped anchor off the shattered coast of Aceh, it did not launch a single fighter jet.
Instead, the American sailors turned their nuclear warship into the largest floating water factory on earth.
Using the ship's four massive steam distillation plants, the crew purified nearly 100,000 gallons of fresh drinking water from the sea every single day. For weeks without sleep, young sailors stood on the hangar deck filling five-gallon plastic jugs by hand, while seventeen Seahawk helicopters flew nonstop from sunrise to sunset.
They flew more than 1,500 missions into jungle clearings, delivering over 400,000 gallons of pure water and nearly six million pounds of food and medicine to people of a different faith who had been taught for years to fear the United States.
America did not ask for one barrel of oil or one dollar in return. When the local hospitals were running again, the giant gray ship quietly raised its anchor and sailed away.
A small mind looks at an American aircraft carrier and sees only a weapon. A survivor looks at that flat gray deck and sees five thousand young Americans bringing water from the sea.

US energy company execs have resigned in disgust as the Trump family is caught secretly expediting the funneling of $25 billion from a sanctioned Russian energy giant in exchange for allowing Russians to obtain a natural gas project in Alaska.
According to investigations by The New York Times and Financial Times, Russia's Novatek allegedly concealed its financial involvement in the American project through a UAE-linked intermediary.
Gentry Beach, a longtime Trump ally and close friend of Donald Trump Jr., signed an agreement with Novatek to pursue natural gas development in Alaska. Reuters documented the arrangement in February.
Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin discussed this cooperation on the Alaska energy project with Trump's representatives, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, during negotiations involving Russia and Ukraine.
The controversy deepened when Polar Train LNG's CEO, Joel Riddle, raised concerns about concealed Russian financing and possible sanctions violations. He departed in September, followed by other senior executives.
The Financial Times also described discussions about a potential arrangement under which Novatek would provide technology for the Alaska project in exchange for sanctions relief benefiting its Arctic LNG 2 development in Siberia.
According to The New York Times, Riddle and two other departing executives warned the Trump administration about the Russian financing and urged officials to investigate.
The White House maintains that the project was mentioned only briefly and that no detailed discussions took place. There is no established evidence that Kushner or Witkoff knew about the allegedly concealed financing. Polar Train LNG denies wrongdoing.
The central question is how a sanctioned Russian energy company became involved in a major American energy venture while Putin was discussing potential economic cooperation with Trump's representatives and a longtime Trump family associate was pursuing a separate agreement with the same Russian company.
Selling Alaska to the Russians or selling Ukraine to the Russians - to the Trump family it's all the same.

If I went to Russia, I would be jailed and held hostage as a POW for criticizing Russia.
I went to Ukraine as a critic and the President of Ukriane invited me to his palace and allowed me to interview him.
After I interviewed @ZelenskyyUa, Russian state media, which is controlled by Putin and the Kremlin, was calling for me to be assassinated and then they were retweeting IRGC propaganda videos that called for Islamic terrorists to shoot me in the head.
Ukraine and Russia aren’t the same.

I've been in those trenches every month or two for the last four years.
People are tired, they miss their families, they have their frustrations.
But they are there, still holding the line, with full clarity that if they let go, Russia and its tyranny will come to their homes.
Safe to say things aren't going well.

No, @elonmusk, the U.S. stopped funding Ukraine last year. In fact, U.S. companies make money on American weapons for which we Europeans pay.
The more you meddle in our politics and the more you play politics with your products, the more you damage your brand.

And some of that US taxpayer money comes back through multiple laundry machines to fund political campaigns in America, which is why you see some politicians caring more about Ukraine than America!

From someone who has lived in Ukraine over 30 years (me), this is bullshit. Hundreds of billions didn't flow to Ukraine - Ukraine's oligarchs made their (relatively modest) fortunes by ripping off Ukrainians, not foreigners.
Ukrainians are fighting to stop this happening again.

Bucha. It was a genocide, recognized by everyone. They buried hundreds of people. They tortured people. We found the grave. There were, I believe, around 500 people. When we liberated those towns near Kyiv, there emerged this, you know, this kind of hatred for the Russians, right at that moment. Not even at the moment when they started the full-scale war. Back then nobody understood what it really was yet. People understood what this war was and what Putin did personally when we found those mass graves of tortured adults, children. I mean they didn't just kill them, they tortured and killed them.
When we liberated Bucha, I said, bring every journalist here. Don't touch anything, just bring the journalists. The whole world simply has to see this. Imagine finding a mass grave in the U.S. or in Britain, God forbid, with 500 tortured people, adults, kids, dogs, animals shot dead. I mean, they held hunting sprees there from military vehicles. People were running, they were shooting, just hunting, playing games. They literally just played with people, like slavery. So how, after this, can you listen to Putin? And how, after this, can you forgive?

Let me clear up some common misconceptions regarding Starlinkand Starshield.
1. As of October 21, Starlink's Terms of Service do not impose a blanket prohibition on military use, although its incorporated Acceptable Use Policy restricts military activities and drone operations without appropriate authorization. Given Ukraine's extensive and publicly acknowledged military use of Starlink over several years, it stretches credulity to suggest that SpaceX was unaware of or had not acquiesced to at least some military applications. It is also striking that the disruption coincided with disagreements over Ukraine's policy of targeting Russian refineries and data centers, as well as Musk's tweet that "This has gone too far."
2. While the Pentagon exercises operational authority over U.S.-procured Starshield services, SpaceX owns and operates the underlying Starlink network and infrastructure on which certain Starshield services depend. The precise division of technical and contractual authority remains disputed.
3. SpaceX does not provide Starlink and Starshield services to Ukraine for free. Ukraine, Poland, and Germany pay for Starlink terminals and subscriptions, while Starshield is supplied through U.S. government contractual arrangements. SpaceX is a commercial defense contractor being paid to provide critical military communications services, not a charitable benefactor. Its unilateral restriction of contracted services, if established, could constitute a breach of contract and could expose SpaceX to considerable liability.
4. Full service has not been restored. Ukrainian officials continue to report operational restrictions affecting Starlink and/or Starshield services.
5. Starlink is not the only satellite communications platform available or being developed. Alternatives include Eutelsat OneWeb, GOVSATCOM, and the planned European IRIS2 constellation, although these are not yet complete substitutes for Starlink's capabilities. Nevertheless, they do indicate a willingness to look beyond SpaceX as a provider of these services.

Starshield is a military product, but most importantly: Ukraine is the victim of aggression. All of its military operations utilizing Starshield/Starlink on its own sovereign territory are strictly DEFENSIVE measures against Russia's illegal invasion.
Throttling a product you’ve sold, especially one your customers rely on for their very survival, is very bad for business. I hope Europe is paying attention.

The US hasn't provided aid to Ukraine since Trump took office. Instead, they SELL military equipment to NATO allies, who then transfer it to Ukraine.
And by the way, the US is currently withholding lifesaving air defense missiles that our allies have already paid for!
