Do you work for a Dutch university & have paid your union dues this year? Then make sure to vote on the CLA today before 16h. You should have gotten a link in your emails. – at Republic of Slovenia

The UG is concerned about the proposal of Minister @RHDijkgraaf on internationalisation in higher education. These concerns are about the measures regarding the main language for the programmes and the impact they may have on teaching and research. rug.nl/news/2023/06/ug-conce…

"Deze universiteit laat zien dat het anders kan." @maasuniversity heeft namelijk afgesproken dat ze maximaal tussen de 10 en 15% van de #docenten op een tijdelijk contract in dienst wil hebben. Veel minder dan het gemiddelde percentage van 60%

It's been interesting for me, the lack of feedback on a platform like this is reminiscent of the early days of emergency remote teaching, where it felt like teaching into the void. You can follow me at @LSKrook if twitter hasn't finally succumbed.

So let me end this week here with a shout-out to the ongoing labor-agreement negotiations with @AObtweets, which is entering its sixth (!) round in order to make better agreements on the work pressure, rampant temp contracts and inflation compensation aob.nl/en/news/unions-are-in…

And part of the reason why the week flew by is that workload all across the board is too high. Weeks like these contain so many different tasks, meetings, questions, ideas, emails and pressure points that there is never a moment to give it the full attention it deserves 1/
This week flew by and unfortunately I did not find the time to share all the things I wanted to share here. But before it's time to log-out I wanted to address the value of having the combination of a teaching and a support role. For example, I hope that the @RecogRewards 1/

So what do I actually do in this role as coordinator eLearning & video? That's a good question, to which there are multiple answers. The shortest version is: I try to solve problems within the faculty that are related to education. The longer version is that it depends... 1/

The role I have now is actually mostly due to the COVID19-pandemic and it's impact on higher education. At the time I was substituting as a study advisor in psychology and as part of that function I was looking at the various educational technologies used in the faculty. 3/
