On this day in 1997, The Isle of Eigg Heritage Trust bought Eigg from its private landlords for £1.5m. This has led to improved housing and infrastructure, reversing a decline caused by previous landlords. It is 5.5 x 3 miles in area and attracts 10,000 visitors per year 😍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Lochbuie is one of my favourite parts of the Isle of Mull, slightly hidden away at the end of a winding road that I wouldn't recommend to inexperienced drivers! As well as Moy Castle, beautiful beaches and delicious food at the Old Post Office, you can find this stone circle!
