Recent work by @ASTARsg labs headed by @oehlerslab @Lab_AmitSinghal and WANG Yue's labs.
In this work, Denise Wee and colleagues demonstrate that primary colonization by mycobacterium M. marinum increases super-infection by M. abscessus in the zebrafish model. They show that opportunistic pathogens passively colonize pre-existing caseous granulomas through macrophage-mediated, ESX1-dependent carriage of M. abscessus into pre-existing caseous granulomas. Here, they show evidence of M. abscessus adaptation to within the necrotic granuloma.

Had a reminder by my colleague @Lab_AmitSinghal that two years ago to this day our faculty had a retreat in my medieval village of Noyers-sur-Serein. Missing this clunky old house! 🏰 ❤️
