Honored to have an hour with @DylanBurns1776 talking about combat reporting and his newest film from the zero line. His work is one of the few opportunities people have to see Ukraine's self defense "first hand." Through and through great journalism.

This is very significant, another country being directly involved in the buildup to the Salvadoran operation in #Haiti.
We are seeing regional, US administration-alligned partners taking the lead in anti-drug gang work in the Carribean nation.

An Salvadoran military operation in Haiti seems a sure bet, very soon, the other question will be the extent of US support - Intel? Fire support? Air transport? Boots on the ground?
Will the October Surprise be a US backed attack in Haitian gangs?
Chartered cargo flights from El Salvador continue to arrive in Port-au-Prince. At least one yesterday and one today.
450 Salvadoran troops have reportedly already arrived and the expectation is at least a 1,000 may ultimately deploy.
On paper, they are part of the GSF. But seems pretty clear Bukele and the GSF aren't exactly on the same page.
Haitian government still hasn't said anything.

🇨🇦 ON THIS DAY IN CANADIAN HISTORY
October 26, 1813 — The Battle of Châteauguay
A small force, a wooded battlefield, and a confrontation that helped shape the course of the War of 1812.
On this day in 1813, American forces advancing toward Montreal encountered Canadian defenders along the Châteauguay River in Lower Canada, near present-day Allan’s Corners, Quebec.
The American campaign, commanded in part by Major General Wade Hampton, sought to capture Montreal and disrupt British supply lines between Upper and Lower Canada.
Opposing the advance was a smaller force under Lieutenant-Colonel Charles-Michel de Salaberry, consisting of French-Canadian Voltigeurs, Canadian Fencibles, local militia, and Indigenous allies, including Mohawk, Huron-Wendat and Abenaki warriors.
Using the surrounding forests, defensive barricades made from fallen trees, and carefully positioned troops, the defenders resisted the American advance.
One particularly memorable tactic involved sounding bugles and calling out from different positions in the woods, creating the impression that the defending force was considerably larger than it actually was.
After several hours of fighting, Hampton ordered his troops to withdraw. The American advance toward Montreal was halted, contributing to the failure of the wider campaign.
The Battle of Châteauguay became an important chapter in the history of the War of 1812 and is now commemorated at the Battle of the Châteauguay National Historic Site.
More than two centuries later, it remains a reminder of the complex military history of early Canada and the contributions of the many communities involved.
