ALBOS DIRT SHEET: PVO claims that anyone in the Canberra Bubble who said Albos dirt sheet authored by staffer Joshua Lloyd targeting Independent MP Helen Haines “wasn’t a dirt sheet” - like Peter Harcher - is in the pocket of Albo and Labor. Facts upon facts. Watch

This of course rests on the enormous assumption that the left, having destroyed, imprisoned and killed Fuentes’s “fake nationalists,” will then be stupid and complacent enough to allow real nationalists to organise and take power. Do you really believe that?

Many within the AusRight have no idea what's coming now that Lula has won in Brazil.
These people are emboldened. Get ready.
Congratulations to my friend @LulaOficial on your election victory.
Australia and Brazil are great democracies, and we’ll keep working together and building on our partnership. 🇦🇺🇧🇷

Every time I report on or otherwise analyze Brazil, roughly 50% of the comments in the US claim I'm a pro-Lula communist and the other half claim I'm a pro-Bolsonaro fascist.
I'm thinking of collecting the ones just from the last week and having a pretty collage made.
Always enjoy being vindicated by Community Notes.
The concept of “super profits” is commie bs. It’s the idea that a company is making outsized returns relative to the risk involved which means the government can tax them more without impacting investment. Putting aside the fact that it’s not the government’s role to dictate how much money a company is allowed to make.
Why would oil and gas companies spend decades and billions of dollars, taking enormous risks, for the prospect of a 10% return? They wouldn’t.
Australia’s major gas projects that are supposedly “ripping us off” actually suffered massive cost blowouts and, even with the extraordinary confluence of circumstances that led to recent commodity prices, are still considered poor investments. One study found that Australia’s LNG investment boom destroyed $19 billion in shareholder value, with estimated lifetime returns of just 3.4% to 10.4%.
The punters are generally being duped about this, but the more sophisticated players calling for these taxes know exactly what they are doing. They are pushing policies that would make future investment uneconomic and ultimately destroy the industry.

Not only did these people help orchestrate the theft of the Brazilian election from Flavio Bolsonaro, but they're also training for 2028. The DoJ should arrest this woman the moment she returns to the US.
Here is James Hernández, the YDSA Co-Chair who also sits on DSA's National Political Committee.
She is currently in Brazil as part of an "international delegation observing the Brazilian runoff election" and is overjoyed that the Supreme Court extended voting hours, even though "a lot of stations have already closed."
These DSA delegations hardly seem like impartial election observers when the organization openly declares solidarity with the very political forces whose elections it is supposedly observing.

Quotes from 2016
John Oliver: “It does feel that the Republican Party has been getting way too comfortable with some, at best, Nazi-adjacent sh*t.”
“Nazis getting power doesn’t historically bode well for anyone, including, for what it’s worth, Nazis, who didn’t exactly have the best 1945.”

>Bad day for illiberal populists
>Lula da Silva
Are any of these people sapient? Do they ever think to themselves "what do the words 'liberal' and 'populist' actually mean"?

Trump channeling Al Czervik is never not gonna be funny. Always exasperating, and a little like a combo of Caddyshack and Idiocracy come to life. Except that beneath the lack of decorum and outright coarseness is a 21st C Coolidge, a man who set the left-wing ratchet in reverse.
Donald Trump is the only right-wing figure in the West this century to actually roll back gains of the left, to actually win and for it to mean something.
One of his more important achievements has been exposing what I call the noble loser. The conservative who prefers a moral trophy for being pure over actually winning. That was John McCain, that was Mitt Romney, and that is, it would seem, Andrew Hastie.
Winning isn’t an end in itself. It’s how you secure the future for your people and the values you claim to represent.
These conservatives claim to be principled, but their principles are usually about decorum, civility and process. They sacrifice the very things they entered politics to defend in order to preserve their own reputations for integrity.
There is no dignity in losing. This isn’t a game where you can win a medal for fair play and sportsmanship.
As @RogerJStoneJr says, “Losers don’t legislate.”
Principled failure is still failure.
Understand how the narrative works.
Ahead of Brazil’s election, they were gearing up to blame Meta if Lula lost. Now that he’s been declared the winner, we’re hearing about the brilliant use of WhatsApp (Meta) that helped deliver his victory.
When Obama won in 2012, they celebrated his shrewd use of Facebook, voter data and microtargeting. When Brexit happened and Trump won in 2016, we got the Cambridge Analytica moral panic.
When the left wins, it’s brilliant digital campaigning. When the right wins, it’s social media manipulation undermining democracy.

If, by the way, the same situation that just happened in Brazil had happened but with the parties switched -- if Bolsonaro had won last night's election and then a pro-Bolsonaro judge sent the Federal Police to seize Lula's passport and bar him from leaving the country -- every major western media outlet and liberal NGOs would be screaming about the authoritarian attack on Brazil's elections and the destruction of basic freedoms.
