Dickensonia fossil mystery solved thanks to the help of Kevin and Claire! And while I was working @monkeycaster1 found some links to the artist and this project! I’ve emailed the artist and hoping he can point us to it’s current location. It also may not be the only “fossil”!
I found one!!! And even though I’m not on x much anymore, it’s a tradition to post it here so here we go! I love him! Thank you monkeyshine team, hiders and rogues for for all the fun. It’s perfect! #monkeyshines2026

I can confirm the other three fossils are in the park! I found them today in an obvious spot but they were surprisingly hard to find on the rocks! I took a photo of each but don’t want to spoil the fun!
Everyone I believe we have solved this dickensonia mystery with the help of parks Tacoma but just on a break so no time to post until I’m off work. I still don’t know where this rock is or if it’s still out there so keep eyes out. But big news coming tonight!!!
UPDATE: Have you seen me? This is what I now know to be a massive carved reproduction of a dickensonia fossil that had been seen by multiple people in Oak tree park in 2019-2020 but has not been seen since renovations had been done a couple years back. It had apparently been seen
at wapato at some point as well and hoping for a photo and time frame for that occurrence. I had assumed maybe parks had moved it during renovation because it has to weigh hundreds of lbs but I would guess no one would look twice at a city or parks worker with heavy equipment.
Anyone know who made this rock? It is a tacoma rocks! Rock so going to ask there too but they had visited the fossil in 2020 and maybe they have more photos!
Does anyone here ever find the dickinsonia fossil in oak tree park from my posts in 2019 2020 and take any photos or video? Anyone seen it recently? Trying to locate it for video because of its legit and not some sort or reproduction it’s a big deal!
