THE BABY HAS ARRIVED - PRE-NAMING ANNOUNCEMENT
Empire of Scars: The Legendary History of Nigeria
My Dear Friends,
At last, the cry of a long-awaited baby has been heard!
Our baby, whom we collectively conceived and whose intellectual foetus has been growing in the womb of history for FOUR WHOLE YEARS, has finally been delivered. What began as an idea has matured into an heirloom; what started as a dream has found its way into the hands of destiny.
Four years of sweat. Four years of sleepless vigils. Four years of descending into the deepest caverns of our storied past, to bring our history into the light in its purest and richest form.
Today, the cord is cut. The cry has been heard.
Ladies and gentlemen, the baby is here!
That baby for whom your congratulations have been so warm, your encouragement so reassuring, and your anticipation so infectious is none other than our long-awaited book project:
EMPIRE OF SCARS: THE LEGENDARY HISTORY OF NIGERIA.
This book is our attempt to bring those stories home, to illuminate the shadows of our past, interrogate the scars of our journey, and preserve the lessons from yesterday that tomorrow must not be allowed to forget.
But, dear friends, every child deserves a befitting naming ceremony, and a project of this magnitude must not be ushered into the world through the back door.
Prepare yourselves for a dignifying launch, one worthy of the labour, the vision, and the historical significance of this noble undertaking.
Yet, before we discharge this bouncing baby from the delivery ward and formally present it to the world, there is a peculiar privilege reserved for our friends in the diaspora. They shall have the first glimpse of this beautiful creation, a taste of the intellectual harvest we have laboured for four years to bring home.
And then, my dear friends here with me at home, our own copies shall follow at the grand launch and beyond as the princes and princesses that we are.
The scars are real. The stories are older than the scars. And the griot has found his voice.
Empire of Scars is finally here.
Shall the LEGENDARY J.O.E begin?

Your chairman, Prince Obaigbena, should have saved the money he spent building ARISE Studios and ordered you to run your show from under a tree.
After all, what is the point of building when you can boast of savings?
A governor who builds nothing but celebrates money in the bank is like a father who starves his children of welfare, neglects their future and then brags about his account balance. Savings cannot replace development, just as a father's bank statement cannot replace his children's well-being.

Bro is truly a real-time example of the biblical servant who buried his talent.
Peter Obi is that perfect example of our generation’s uncreative & lazy servant.
He will be thrown into darkness where there will be gnashing of teeth by Jan 2027 inshallah

I honestly think people should stick strictly to their calling. Kenneth’s sickly narrative would fit perfectly into one of those low-budget Onitsha film productions. As a script, it would not be a bad attempt at fiction, where a man employs voodoo to make his name command a value it has neither earned nor deserves, defying every known principle of reason, logic and common sense.
But in politics? It does not even qualify as comedy. It is plain, unadulterated stupidity dressed up as political analysis.
And the unfortunate reality is that these are the kinds of opposition voices the APC is compelled to engage. Life members of the Didinrin Association, where intellectual bankruptcy is a credential and absurdity is mistaken for strategy.
You people are making this campaign unnecessarily boring. Must we contend with intellectual dwarfs every time we turn around? Can we not have a worthy opposition that challenges us with facts, depth, sound reasoning and a little bit of cerebral sophistication?
Please, give us men of intellect and depth. Politics is serious business, even when the opposition insists on turning itself into a travelling comedy show.

MOST PROMINENT WORLD LEADERS AND THEIR LEGACIES and where Peter Obi stands....
Lee Kuan Yew: Lee helped transform Singapore into a major manufacturing, trade and financial centre. He transformed Singapore from a vulnerable, resource-poor former British colony into a prosperous, globally competitive nation by building enduring institutions and investing in infrastructure that generations continue to benefit from.
Abraham Lincoln: Preserving the Union and steering the nation towards the abolition of slavery, thereby changing the moral and political trajectory of America forever.
Chief Obafemi Awolowo: Free education, free healthcare, agricultural revolution, infrastructural renewal, and most enduringly, the power of his vision. He took firm hold of yesterday, saw beyond his years and era, and built a future for his people whose blueprint several generations later still serves as a standard for enduring development.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu: Transformed Lagos State, which, despite its colonial inheritance and enormous economic potential, was financially stranded and dependent on federal allocations for survival, into Africa's fifth-largest economy.
Akanbi looked into the Atlantic, dared the ultimate force of nature, tamed its ravaging beast and raised a city from water. A challenge even the British struggled to solve, and one the Federal Government periodically committed enormous resources to without lasting success.
He equally laid the framework that transformed a wasteland into a Free Trade Zone, which today accommodates the world's largest single-train refinery.
As President, he has worked towards ending incessant university strikes, consigning a 45-year-old challenge to the sea of forgotten history. Today, our students are guaranteed their four-year programmes will indeed be 4 years.
He has equally worked towards ending the recurring nightmare of fuel scarcity, freeing our fellow citizens from the hours and days of productive time they once sacrificed queuing endlessly to fill their tanks. A four-decade-old challenge.
He has also established a framework through which Nigerians who desire university education need not be denied the opportunity simply because their parents lack the financial capacity to pay.
He has advanced the framework for State Police, confronting a challenge that has persisted for six decades. The objective is to bring security closer to the people and strengthen the fight against insecurity.
Forex Arbitrage: The days when a privileged few exploited a broken system and governmental failure to rake in millions daily without corresponding productivity are increasingly behind us.
Peter Gregory Obi: It cannot be education like Awolowo's, for teachers were owed months of salaries, while his successor shut down hundreds of miracle centres through which Anambra students had been indoctrinated into the culture of exam malpractice.
It cannot be healthcare either, because Johnbull was waiting for mass deaths to establish that seemingly endless doctors' strikes had dealt a tragic blow to the health and survival of his people.
Bro's enduring legacy was that he saved money. Even though poverty increased under his administration, he saved money.
Even though there is no formidable infrastructure to speak of, Peter saved money.
Even though he could not attract businesses beyond the familiar beer parlour, Obi saved money.
A real-time example of the biblical servant who buried his talent. Jesus emphasised that he was punished for being unproductive and uncreative with the resources entrusted to him.
Peter saved money, the same savings successive Anambra administrations have since questioned. God forbid that such a talentless, economically illiterate leper in governance should preside over our country at this critical juncture. The biblical Sodom and Gomorrah would look like a dream destination for Nigerians.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu departs Abuja for Makkah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to perform Umrah, the Islamic spiritual exercise involving a pilgrimage to the Holy City.
The visit gives the President an opportunity for spiritual reflection, devotion, and prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability, and continued progress.
While in Makkah, President Tinubu will perform the religious rites associated with Umrah, seeking Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its people.

A great piece. It's actually worth the read. 👍👍
Dear Young Man,
Under normal circumstances, never assume that your wife's family can possibly love you more than your own family.
This recent trend of newly successful men demonising their own families while adopting their wives' as substitutes is a disease that must encounter a vaccine, and soonest. It makes absolutely no sense.
A young man emerges into fortune, builds a home, accommodates his wife's mother, her siblings, and perhaps even finds a confidant in her father, yet almost entirely abandons his own family. And somehow, there is always a justification for it. An emotional biography carefully assembled to rationalise the weakness of men.
Suddenly, every husband's family is evil, cruel, toxic and inhabited by demons that must be cast out, while every wife's family is made up of angels and saints deserving of adoration and canonisation.
Really?
Of course, there are genuinely terrible families, and marriage does not require you to tolerate abuse or endure toxicity in the name of blood relations. But when a man must systematically vilify his own family to prove his loyalty to his wife's, perhaps the problem deserves a more honest interrogation.
Marriage is not a funeral for your family ties, and success should not become the burial ground of your roots.
Learn to establish healthy boundaries, protect your peace, honour your wife and respect her family. But do not allow the emotional politics of marriage to turn you into a stranger to the people who knew you before fortune gave you a new identity.
Blood is not always thicker than water, I agree. But neither should marriage become an excuse to rewrite history, manufacture villains and canonise an entire family simply because you have found a new home.
Wisdom is knowing how to build a new family without needlessly destroying the old one.
