The irish government are corrupt

🔹 @rte bosses are reportedly fuming over the withholding of €20 million in public funding. 🔹Perhaps said “bosses” might spare a thought for the Irish citizens who have spent years watching matters of profound public interest go inadequately investigated and reported. 🔹Where was the outrage over the misinformation and misleading narratives surrounding the Oireachtas Banking Inquiry & the fabricated Senan Allen Report? 🔹Where is the sustained investigative journalism examining evidence that challenges findings? 🔹And where is the serious scrutiny of what is happening inside Irish courtrooms, particularly where allegations of fabricated evidence, concealed documentation, professional conflicts of interest and serious procedural irregularities demand independent examination? 🔹These are not minor matters. They go to the integrity of our democratic institutions, the administration of justice and the protection of citizens against abuses of power. 🔹Public-service broadcasting is not merely about producing programmes, protecting executive salaries or securing another tranche of taxpayers’ money. 🔹It is about holding power to account, especially when doing so is uncomfortable for the powerful. 🔹RTÉ executives may be fuming about €20 million. 🔹Imagine how citizens feel when they believe the truth about matters affecting their homes, livelihoods and access to justice has been neglected for years. 🔹Perhaps the public deserves a little less outrage from broadcasting executives and considerably more investigative journalism. @Wftproof @ArturNadol7566 @stevemiddi1 independent.ie/irish-news/po…
