I suspect Dario/Anthro are trying to figure out how to deploy their recipe (mostly autonomous self-improvement) to close jailbreak vulnerabilities. Once they solve this, it will be full steam ahead. This pause might end up being exactly what they needed.

Claude Code just found proof that every app on your phone is listening to your conversations. TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat. they're using what you say out loud to build your feed. i have the data to prove it. i've suspected this for months but last week something happened that made me finally check. i was on a call with my friend and told him i'm thinking about breaking up with my girlfriend. didn't text it. didn't search it. just said it out loud with my phone on the table. two hours later she opens TikTok next to me and her entire feed is breakups. "signs your relationship is over." "how to heal after a breakup." she looked at me and said "why is TikTok showing me this." i said i don't know. but i did know. i connected my iPhone to my MacBook and ran Claude Code that same night. it scanned every app's background microphone activity for the last 90 days. not just the apps that asked for microphone permission. apps that were supposed to only have access to photos or location but were activating the microphone anyway. what it found: → TikTok activated the microphone 347 times while the app was "closed" in the background → Instagram → 211 background activations → Facebook → 189 → Snapchat → 94 every activation lasted between 3 and 15 seconds. enough to catch a sentence. every one of them tagged a keyword and cached it locally on the phone with a timestamp. Claude Code pulled the full keyword cache: → "breakup" — tagged 4 hours before her feed changed → "moving out" — from a conversation with my mom last Tuesday → "wedding venue" — from a call with my sister about her engagement that i never searched once → "protein powder" — said it out loud to my roommate, had ads for it within an hour → "flight to tokyo" — mentioned it at dinner, saw travel ads the same night those keywords were sitting in a local cache on my phone organized by app with timestamps. TikTok had the most entries. Instagram was second. every single keyword matched a conversation i had out loud near my phone. the scariest one was "wedding venue." my sister told me she's getting engaged on a private call. i never searched it. never typed it. within a day my explore page had engagement rings and venue tours. then Claude Code checked a second phone in the same room. my girlfriend's. same keywords. same timestamps. both phones were picking up the same conversation and tagging it independently. i asked Claude Code how to shut it down. it mapped every app's microphone access and built a permission audit. what i did: → revoked microphone access from every app that doesn't need it to function → disabled background app refresh for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat → turned off "Hey Siri" which keeps the microphone in passive listening mode 24/7 → revoked "nearby interaction" permission which uses ultrasonic audio between devices Claude Code confirmed all four apps lost background microphone access after the changes. i checked her phone too. same steps. took about 3 minutes per phone. within 48 hours both our feeds went completely random. generic content. nothing personal. nothing from our conversations. that's when i knew for sure it was real. the full step by step and the prompt are in the first reply. takes 3 minutes. save it so you don't lose it and send it to anyone who's ever said "my phone is definitely listening to me." it is. now you can prove it and shut it down.

In another historic milestone for NordSpace, the Honourable David J. McGuinty @DavidMcGuinty, Minister of National Defence, announced yesterday that NordSpace has been awarded a $20M, 10-year contract with the Department of National Defence at the Atlantic Spaceport Complex (ASX) in Newfoundland and Labrador. The ASX is Canada’s largest spaceport, and being built from the ground up to support light, medium and heavy-lift rockets, starting with NordSpace’s own Tundra and Tempest vehicles. This is the first contract of its kind between the DND and a Canadian commercial launch company developing both launch vehicles and launch pads. It uniquely positions NordSpace as Canada’s sovereign launch provider, a result of us being Canada’s only fully vertically integrated space missions company. Owning our own spaceport allows us the cadence and control necessary to operate at scale for both domestic and allied needs. Under the Facility Access Agreement (FAA) contract: 🚀 DND secures priority access to a dedicated launch pad at ASX, available to conduct urgent activities related to national security. 🚨 DND secures priority call on NordSpace launch capacity in the event of a matter of national security requiring urgent deployment of payloads to orbit. 🛰️ Over the 10-year term, NordSpace will prepare its facilities, vehicles, spacecraft, and operations for secure responsive sovereign launch, from Canadian soil, on Canadian timelines, under Canadian control. We intend to go beyond the baseline commitments of the contract by working toward always having our Tundra launch vehicle paired with several of our Aquila-class spacecraft buses available and on standby at ASX. The posture is designed to allow any DND mission to be integrated onto Aquila, launched aboard Tundra, and operated on orbit within a target window of 24 to 72 hours. This is the model the United States Space Force has demonstrated through its Tactically Responsive Space program, and the capability Canada now needs to build for itself. The target responsiveness is only credible because NordSpace is vertically integrated, designing, building, and operating the rocket, the spacecraft, the propulsion systems, the ground systems, and the spaceport itself. A truly sovereign responsive launch capability has to be owned, end to end, by a Canadian company under Canadian control. We are working closely with 3 Canadian Space Division (3 CSD) to purpose-build the capability around the real operational needs of the Canadian Armed Forces. The contract sits inside a broader vision now being executed in parallel across every layer of our vertically integrated program: 🛰️ Terra Nova is operating in orbit, testing common hardware and operations at TRL-9 across our launch and space systems, as the first Canadian launch company operating its own hardware in space. 🏗️ At ASX, Phase 2 construction is underway at SLC-01, targeting Spring 2027 completion ahead of made-in-Canada orbital launch NET 2028. 🏭 At Rocket Factory 1 in Markham, the Tundra orbital launch vehicle is making rapid progress leveraging advanced manufacturing in metal additive and automated composites. 🚀 Our Taiga suborbital vehicle is awaiting flight pending final regulatory approval as the first ever commercially authorized launch in Canada. Taiga will evolve into VERTEX, a nationwide sovereign Canadian suborbital launch platform ahead of Tundra’s first orbital flight. Each of these milestones is in service of the same commitment: launching Canadian rockets, carrying Canadian payloads, from Canadian soil, when Canada needs it. We are grateful to the DND and Hon. Minister McGuinty and the 3CSD and BGen Christopher Horner for their partnership and trust. @NationalDefence @CanadianForces @DRDC_RDDC @csa_asc @spacecanada @Transport_gc

FUCK YOU Elon 🖕🏻
🚨 BREAKING: Ukrainian military sources are reporting that Elon Musk’s SpaceX abruptly restricted Starlink satellite communications during Ukrainian military operations overnight, disrupting critical missions as Russia unleashed a massive missile and drone barrage against Kyiv. Ukrainian activist Serhii Sternenko reports that Starlink connections began dropping when terminals were moving faster than 100 mph (160 km/h), causing multiple missions to fail. Ukrainian military communications expert Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov says the restrictions were imposed WITHOUT WARNING. Sternenko suspects SpaceX acted at the request of the Trump administration, though that allegation has not been independently confirmed. It is clear that Trump is furious that Zelenskyy has refused to surrender and give away eastern Ukraine, and now Trump is trying to break Ukraine's resolve by actively supporting Russia. He seems to take that refusal as a personal insult, an attack on his image as the dealmaker who can end the war. Once again, Trump is blaming his own failures on others. This time, the consequences are deadly.

Abdul El-Sayed is spot-fucking-on. "We don't live in capitalism. We live in corporate socialism. If you're a corporation, you can buy a politician to get that politician to rig the system for you so you make more money and you ex out every other market in which you compete. You need good healthcare. You need a good education. We need childcare. We need good roads and bridges. We don't need to send our money to big corporations to subsidize them, we need to be invested in people so they have the human capital to be able to do all the things as they graduate and come out."

Terra Nova, NordSpace’s first pathfinder satellite, is headed to orbit in a few weeks after successful build, test and integration between NordSpace’s SSL ahead of launch from Vandenberg SFB! Terra Nova represents far more than a satellite for NordSpace. It is the embodiment of our sovereign end-to-end space missions vision for Canada. It allows us to walk in the shoes of our future launch customers, unlock new business opportunities for scale and resilience, and build unified hardware, software and procedures with TRL-9 flight heritage that will power everything from our rockets to satellites. 🌎 Mission: This self-funded dual-use defence and commercial demonstration satellite will test capabilities ranging from Space Domain Awareness (SDA) to wildfire monitoring. Missions designed to protect Canadian sovereignty and save lives. 🛰️ Technology: Terra Nova will demonstrate four critical technologies we're developing in-house: our scalable Athena spacecraft bus, our Zephyr-EP electric propulsion thruster, our Chronos edge-AI camera system powered by an onboard NVIDIA GPU, and our Sentinel mission control software platform. Sentinel will power all missions at NordSpace including launch. The satellite was built and tested in our Space Systems Lab (SSL) including thermal, vacuum and vibration in-house. 🚀 End-to-End: While we're building Canada's first commercial orbital launch vehicles (Tundra and Tempest, light and medium-lift) and the Atlantic Spaceport Complex (ASX), Terra Nova demonstrates that we can deliver on every phase of the space mission lifecycle: design, manufacturing, launch, on-orbit operations, and data services. 🇨🇦 Canada: Seeing our inaugural satellite come together marks a pivotal and proud moment for NordSpace and Canada's space future. We are working to scale to larger and more capable buses including Athena+ and our new Aquila platform, and launch them on Canadian-made rockets from a Canadian-owned spaceport. That’s real sovereign launch. The most successful space launch companies, from SpaceX to Rocket Lab, understand that vertical integration isn't optional, it's critical. By operating our own hardware in orbit, launched from our rockets, using our own infrastructure, we develop a cost and control structure that is unmatched while building a company that is sovereign itself for a sovereign Canada. Building spacecraft in parallel with launch vehicles ensures we can support customers throughout the entire mission lifecycle while unlocking new business opportunities and accelerating our path to becoming a true end-to-end space missions company. The team photographed here and many others invested so much to get to this point, and we could not be more excited for NordSpace’s first mission going to orbit. We are just getting started. Ad astra, per aspera! 🛰️ 🇨🇦 @NationalDefence @DRDC_RDDC @csa_asc @spacecanada
