Το 1982 ο Χοσέ επισκέφθηκε το Άγιον Όρος. Εκεί μελέτησε πολλές βυζαντινές εικόνες στα πλαίσια των αγιογραφικών του σπουδών. Ιδιαίτερη εντύπωση του έκανε ένα αντίγραφο της Παναγίας της Πορταΐτισσας, που υπήρχε σε μία σκήτη...
Ο Χοσέ θέλησε να την αγοράσει, αλλά στεναχωρήθηκε όταν έμαθε ότι δεν ήταν προς πώληση. Καθώς έφευγε όμως, ο Δικαίος της Σκήτης του χάρισε την εικόνα. Ο ευλαβής προσκυνητής απέδωσε το γεγονός σε θαύμα της Θεοτόκου.
Επιστρέφοντας στο Μόντρεαλ, ο Χοσέ διάβαζε κάθε βράδυ τους Χαιρετισμούς της Παναγίας μπροστά στην εικόνα...
Μετά από κάποιες εβδομάδες στο δωμάτιο όπου είχε την εικόνα άρχισε να ευωδιάζει μια ευχάριστη και έντονη μυρωδιά. Τότε παρατήρησε ότι η εικόνα έβγαζε μύρο από τα χέρια της Θεοτόκου...
Τα οσα ακολούθησαν συντάραξαν τον κόσμο...

This is Fadi al-Halsa, a young Orthodox Christian (Rum Orthodox) dentist from Karak, Jordan who only just graduated from Alexandria University's dental school this year.
Instead of celebrating his bright future, Fadi's parents and two sisters are now laying him to rest. Fadi was martyred in the Karak Saint George Church terrorist attack in Jordan.

In Ben-Hur, there is a moment of extraordinary simplicity and grace. Judah Ben-Hur (Charlton Heston), exhausted and broken in the desert, is silently offered water by Jesus. We never see Christ’s face; only his figure and presence are revealed.
