Ive said it before ill say it again- its the inch people will take a mile from. If you concede trans women cannot be in this space you concede they are “other” than women to such an extent that they can be excluded from all spaces and not even be called women.
Honestly the only issue I have here is maybe the final "it was right here!" being too much.

Dan's TCaP wiki page validates basically everything the film exists to question. The acknowledgement that Dan has done everything in his power to distance himself from the show is right above the gleeful declaration that six people are dead, in part because of him.
My appreciation of what the film does increased dramatically upon looking into TCaP for context, and discovering its fanbase. The film wouldnt work half as well if it was about a similar, fictional show.

In many ways this is backwards. SV spent minimal time explaining what AI could do for people--ads were literally like "it can generate a work email or, uh, summarize a work email?"--and lotta time saying "this is inevitable, will take your job, and maybe go rogue and kill you."

"Trans kids just want to play soccer with their friends" might be a true description of how actual trans kids feel, but it doesn't ring true to parents who have kids in expensive privatized leagues and are stewing in this mindset of cutthroat competition.
This is also why the untenable, insulting idea of 'trans leagues' come from. Its not about what any player wants, its about not risking the investment parents may have pinned to the notion that sports will lead to their kids future.
