I love watching students walk in front of a bus like they could definitely take the hit.

Nothing like being at the only person sitting at a bus stop to make you paranoid about it not actually being the correct bus stop.

You know who also learned valuable skills? Free people. And unlike the enslaved, those free people could keep the $ from those skills, they could buy property with those skills instead of be property, they could support their families instead of have their children sold from them

In 1996, Perdue launched OxyContin, the pill that would ignite the opioid crisis - an explosion in drug use that has shaved years off US life expectancy. Many of those scripts were written for back pain. Today, we discover they probably never worked

This morning, as I grapple with the passing of my aunt… A gross distortion of my father’s beliefs on equality; a horrible misuse of his image to oppose something he pressed for: Policies/programs that prevent ‘white supremacy’ laden inequity in hiring, college admissions, etc
Martin Luther King Jr would be proudly standing with President Trump in support of the Supreme Court’s decision to end Affirmative Action. A great day for equality.

You know the Supreme Court had themselves quite a day when you see all these white conservative politicians quoting MLK out of context. 🤷🏻‍♂️
As Martin Luther King Jr said, people should be judged on the content of their character, not the color of their skin. The Supreme Court affirmed that fundamental truth in today’s decision. The greatness of America is that it doesn’t matter where you start — you get to decide where you finish.

Let’s talk about Black physicians (5% of all physicians). We have statistically lower MCAT and Step scores. However, Black physicians taking care of Black patients decreases mortality. If we let less Black applicants into medical school, more patients will die. Period.

The Supreme Court's decision to strike down affirmative action, including in professional schools, like medical and nursing, will have detrimental consequences on Black health for generations to come. This is about life & death for us. Today, we are only 5% of physicians.

My grandfather was deep brown. My grandmother was white passing. She had to ride in the back seat when they were together in the south so they wouldn’t get stopped. There are people panicking about “America falling” cuz the POTUS displayed a Pride flag. Y’all not serious.
