The Framers didn’t design a system that collapses when one election goes the wrong way. They EXPECTED setbacks, factions, and imperfect officeholders. Their remedy was STRUCTURAL RIVALRY and DELIBERATE DELAY. Not the hope that any single party or election would permanently settle the questions. The same friction that can block your agenda also blocks the other side’s. Power is divided ON PURPOSE: House, Senate, veto, courts, states, and the next election. That’s the point of the design. Tonight’s results don’t rewrite the Constitution. They just remind us why the Founders built it this way.
