Last Sunday, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries traveled to Montgomery to appear with Figures just before mid-term elections. Before he left, the New York Times reports, Jeffries stopped at the Sculpture Park where we had taken the students.
On Tuesday, 2nd District voters thwarted the Republican plan by re-electing Figures. Surging Democrats recaptured the House with a large majority, which soon will make Jeffries America’s first African-American Speaker.

1) no one is running against Schumer
2) the Senate leadership vote is on a secret ballot
3) Democrats just won a landslide with Schumer setting Senate strategy and his allies providing support to winning campaigns.
4) If no one runs against him, there won’t be a vote count.

Hakeem Jeffries will be Speaker of the House and Chuck Schumer will be Senate Majority Leader. Don’t like it? Tough shit.

Schumer and Jeffries presided over one of the greatest Democrat electoral victories in living memory. The only people who would be this rabid about their removal are those who are threatened by Democrats being successful.

Chuck Schumer will be the Majority Leader.
Hakeem Jeffries will be Speaker of the House.
Anyone crying about this is not a serious person.
Both men did a phenomenal job recruiting candidates, supporting them, and ultimately delivering one of the best midterms wins ever.
THANK YOU!!
The flat-out denial that Jeffries will be Speaker is what baffles me. You can disagree with the outcome all you want, but pretending there’s a realistic path to someone else getting the gavel makes me wonder if people understand how the House works. Even AOC is on board. Where exactly are the votes to stop him?

Outrageous stuff.

Leader @HakeemJeffries: In the minority, we ran Pam Bondi out of town.
In the minority, we ran Kristi Noem out of town.
In the minority, we haven’t given a dime to Donald Trump's violent ICE mass deportation machine. We’ve also made clear that we’re going to hold accountable these rogue agents who are breaking the law, brutalizing and killing American citizens and violently targeting law-abiding immigrant families.
