I am grateful for every Democratic victory on Tuesday night, but I am over the damn moon that it looks like this kids like Christian will no longer be represented by this absolute ghoul of a right-wing ideologue.
As bad as things were for Republicans on election night, they were arguably worse in North Carolina — ground zero for a repudiation of President Trump’s attempts to strong-arm GOP control of government that left this formerly red Southern state blue. wapo.st/4zr2UlM

Roy Cooper received 1,728,410 votes from early voting.
Michael Whatley received 1,643,088 votes in total.
Sen. Elect Roy Cooper would have won this race even if he received ZERO votes on Election Day!
Outrageous stuff.

If you are watching this and just have a passing familiarity with elections, just understand you're seeing something special, a 100-year flood. Easily the worst election for a party since 1974.
Republicans redrew the maps in NC, and right now, NRCC Chair Richard Hudson and Tim Moore are on track to lose their House seats. I can't stop laughing.

I was working with @ClimatePower polling data centers for the last year or so. When we started, it was a neutral issue. The move against it, particularly when powered by fossil fuels, was one of the fastest moving issues we've ever seen.
