🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨 Giussepe Pezzini, the Tolkien consultant on The Hunt for Gollum discussed his involvement in the film in a recent interview: "The first year and a half of the work was to do research. I had to do research on the story. They really wanted to be sure that the story was somehow embedded in Tolkien lore. Something that they told me from the very beginning, was that they're doing something different. This is an adaptation. This is very clear. I knew it in theory before but now it's very very clear, this is an art of an adaptation and therefore also an art of interpretation and that's the nature of the project. But at the same time, they really wanted to, for the love for detail at least understand and to route what they were doing in Tolkien lore. So I did do a lot of research on Tolkien lore on the character of Gollum, his backstory, his community where he was coming from. I would say I've written a book, we will see whether it's going to be published or not, but in the end, I really did put together almost the size of a book of notes and comments and research. While the script developed, I was reading the script and providing notes. Trying to make sure [there was] accuracy, both in terms of Tolkien lore and in terms of Tolkien's literary vision. And even philosophical vision because there are big archetypical themes that are touched in this movie. I will often put my parallels with other scenes, with other stories from the same legendarium. I was one of the voices that they wanted to hear."
