A belated but important counter measure by #Somalia following #Ethiopia’s repeated and systematic violations of Somalia’s sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity and political independence. Despite Somalia’s restraint, Ethiopia continues to escalate. #NotAnInch remains intact.

However, a source close to the matter told Addis Standard that Ambassador Muktar has not yet been officially informed about the decision. Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is expected to issue a statement.
Diplomatic relations between Ethiopia and Somalia plummeted to a new low following the signing on 01 January of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ethiopia and Somaliland, granting Ethiopia access to the sea for a leased military base in return for recognition for Somaliland.
Although further developments on the MoU front seemed to have subsided on both sides amid reports of diplomatic efforts, Ethiopia’s State Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed a senior ministerial delegation led by Puntland’s Minister of Finance, at his office on Wednesday, a move seen by many as provocative as it came a few days after Puntland State said it was withdrawing its recognition of the federal government of Somalia.

A rare photo of the man who led us over the brink, standing next to the brink itself. In the frame, clad in red and white, is the brink itself, standing on the left; and the man on the right wearing the dark suit, is the one who introduced the brink to us.

While the prolonged endeavor to rid Somalia of the long-standing status of a heavily-indebted country is fast-approaching the point of fruition, the federal government is now pushing ahead with other future-oriented plans for cross-border cooperations involving multiple areas; such as trade & economics.
To find out more about how well-placed Somalia is to gain from the expected regional integrations, we are organising a thoughtful discussion via Twitter space with @DrahmednurAbdi, PM @HamzaAbdiBarre’s Political Advisor.
Featuring the theme of "Horn of Africa and the Future of Somalia", this programme is scheduled for tomorrow at 10pm (EAT).
For those who are ardently interested in this subject, we are pleased to invite you to attend this thought-provoking session.

President @HassanSMohamud deserves brownie points in leading the total war of eradicating the vile and vicious group of Alshabab from our country. The president left his comfort zone at @TheVillaSomalia and decided to accompany our gallant army forces on the frontlines to encourage them morally.
#Somalia’s number one enemy at this moment is Alshabab, and their eradication from the country, is the best interest for the people and the country as well. Let us unite against them so that we can live together peacefully.
Guul Insha’Allah.

It’s been a year since the formation of the current Somali council of ministers known as "Danqaran" under the premiership of @HamzaAbdiBarre. As enshrined in its political programme, the government’s key priorities include: (1). The liberation & stabilization of the country, (2). The finalization of the protracted constitutional review process, and (3). The successful completion of the long-standing debt-relief process.
In this light, the @ArdaaForum intends to host a series of space programmes over the next few days with the goal of assessing and evaluating how far the government has come in all its priority areas. These sessions will bring on board a number of important and relevant government officials to discuss the advancements made thus far as well as the shortcomings that call for realigning the plans for better results in the near future.
We kindly invite you to join us in our programmes that will begin tomorrow. Further details about each session will be separately displayed on here very soon.
