One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

Prosperity and peace are imminently attainable for everyone in this country. We need merely to transcend the parties that keep us fighting each other, throw off the corporate and foreign influence on our government, and return to the principles laid out in our Constitution.

Billy Crystal told @CBS Sunday Morning that he no longer trusts God after experiencing two very painful life tragedies. He lost his family’s Pacific Palisades home of 46 years in the 2025 wildfires. And then he was faced with the death of his close friend, Rob Reiner. He told the media that he wasn’t speaking to God anymore “cause I don’t trust Him. Too many bad things have happened. The earth is in bad shape. This is a weird, scary time.” Everyone has bad things happen in life, and everyone experiences loss and disappointment. But I trust God. He has done everything to keep me out of Hell, by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to save me—and to save Billy Crystal. The Bible says we all have an appointment with death and then the judgment—and the decisions we make now will determine where we spend eternity. God is real, He is trustworthy and true. He loves us. My advice to Billy Crystal and everyone else is to trust God with your life. Put your faith and trust in His Son, Jesus Christ, who took your sins to the Cross, died, was buried, and on the third day, God raised Him to life. He will invite us to be with Him for eternity. foxnews.com/entertainment/bi…

In a move that will provide predictable and stable markets for farmers, we are proposing 100% REALLOCATION for the additional 2025 Small Refinery Exemption volumes for the amount that exceeded estimates in the “Set 2” Rule. This proposal will strengthen the Renewable Fuel Standard program, open markets for farmers, and grow economic potential for rural communities. Administrator Zeldin just announced this breaking news in Iowa. epa.gov/newsreleases/while-i…

I've decided that anytime a politician in D.C. thinks they have a strategy to "help" fertilizer, this is how it goes... Belarus potash? No. New NH3 production where the product will go to Japan? Nope. New phosphate production where the acid like gets duties? Nah.

It’s going to cost an extra $13,000 to operate our combine harvestor this fall compared to last year. That doesn’t include trucking but it adds plenty. The run up in commodity prices has been erased by the run up in diesel. #JustSayin

It’d be a good time to have that ethanol tractor @JohnDeere 😊🌽@jantenbensel
Add one in Iowa, saw personally. Doesn’t necessarily mean that they cannot get more, but if they did, might be squeezed into selling at a loss. Appears some might just sit this out, at least for now.

A transistor is a switch: on or off, 0 or 1. MIT researchers built one from bacteria. On September 4 2026, they announced living circuits - networks of engineered bacteria wired together - that perform logical calculations and produce chemical outputs in response to biological inputs. Potential applications: bacteria that detect disease markers in the body and release a drug directly at the site, or microbes that sense soil nitrogen levels and adjust fertiliser release in real time.

Nearly two months after the @NationalCorn commissioned study found U.S. farmer are often paying double for farm inputs compared to farmers in Brazil, Sen. @ChuckGrassley is now asking President Trump to do for farmers what he's done for pharma. His words: "Do for American farmers what you have done for consumers of pharmaceutical products." Backstory: As we reported in July, NCGA data shows US farmers paying up to 2x what Brazil pays for the same seed & chemicals. Now it's landed on Trump's Truth Social feed. agweb.com/news/policy/politi…

The judge's decision on Brendan Sorsby is indicative of where we are. We've confused compassion & empathy with excusing behavior. This is what happens when the person who broke the rules is increasingly viewed as the primary victim. Accountability is now cruelty. Embarrassing.
