1) Many policies and practices make teaching unsustainable - and no amount of “self-care” will fix it
2) Lack of respect (and pay) for the hours worked & schooling required
3) Lack of resources to do what is needed.

As the principal of this school I have no idea why it started but I love ❤️ it and think we need to do this every transition moving forward till June. :)
We are trying to figure how and why a group of @HarborSchool staff and seniors decided to do the Cupid Shuffle during transition today. More info to come soon. :) Have a great weekend!

"Perfect attendance" should be a thing of the past. When you don't feel well, stay home instead of going to work or school and possibly spreading an infection to those around you. I hope Covid has taught us our actions affect others. And that everyone should have paid sick leave.

Can NYC educators just enjoy their vacation without any added stress. Haven’t they been through enough???? Then you wonder why folks are resigning. This lacks any regard for people’s mental health and safety. FYI people have tested (-) with no symptoms days before they were (+)

A lot of teachers are stressed because their students are not where they expect them to be by this point.
They need to give themselves some grace. They can’t teach twice as hard and the kids can’t learn twice as fast.
We just take them where we get them… and move them forward.
