A Finnish court has sentenced the Russian captain and Azerbaijani boatswain of the cargo ship Fitburg to prison for damaging undersea cables in the Gulf of Finland.
Captain Andrei Maksimenko received 3 years and 6 months, while boatswain Vusal Majidov was sentenced to 2 years and 10 months.
According to prosecutors, the vessel dragged its anchor along the seabed for 130 kilometres, damaging two telecommunications cables and endangering critical infrastructure.
Both men were ordered into immediate custody and must pay compensation for the damage.
Finally, some accountability for attacks on Europe's critical infrastructure.

37% of new cars registered in October were fully electric. Over the last 12 months, it was more than a quarter (27.2%).

In Russia, the Ryazan oil refinery is burning after a drone attack.
Part of Rosneft, it is one of Russia's largest oil processing facilities, with an annual capacity of around 17-18 million tonnes of crude oil.
The plant produces gasoline, diesel, fuel oil, bitumen, and jet fuel, including TS-1 aviation kerosene used by Russian military aircraft.
It supplies Moscow and other parts of central Russia and reportedly provides fuel for the Russian defense ministry.

The "diesel deal" theatre is over. The US is not getting Russian fuel. Instead, the tankers are going to regular Russian buyers such as Brazil. The good thing: This probably means that the US won't lift sanctions against Dmitriev's Russian Direct Investment Fund after all.

According to the Russian Grain Union the shipments of Grain via Russian ports in October decreased by 67% to 2,4 million tons down from 7 million. Corn stayed at the same level as 2025 at 243 600 tons. Wheat exports dropped 68% to 2 million tons and barley 71% to 161,4 tons.
