I don’t understand why in this day and age - where delivery drivers (especially Amazon ones) have been caught on camera MULTIPLE TIMES stealing or beating cats, people don’t keep them inside.
ALERT: Amazon driver walks up and launches a package right at a cat sitting on the steps of a home and appears to smile after doing it.
Isabella Sump shared the video of the delivery man in Virginia Beach allegedly deliberately throwing the package at her cat, Opie.

💔 IN MEMORY OF JESSE ADAMS — A TRUE HERO FOR ANIMALS 💔
It is with enormous sadness that we have learned of the tragic death of Jesse Adams, founder of RainCoast Dog Rescue Society in Canada, who lost his life while carrying out an animal rescue mission in one of the most dangerous areas of Ukraine.
Jesse dedicated his life to saving animals, even when it meant putting his own life at risk.
We first came to know Jesse in 2021, when Afghanistan fell to the Taliban. Jesse and RainCoast were among the extraordinary organisations that came together to assist KSAR with the evacuation of 285 cats and dogs, helping many find loving forever homes.
Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Jesse travelled to the border to help fleeing families and their pets, providing veterinary care, supplies and assistance getting animals to safety.
He returned repeatedly, undertaking increasingly dangerous missions.
Most recently, Jesse worked alongside Animal Rescue Kharkiv, rescuing hundreds of animals from devastated frontline communities under constant threat from drones, missiles and artillery.
These were extraordinary acts of compassion and courage in the face of unimaginable danger.
Jesse knew the risks. He knew every mission could be his last. Yet he continued because he believed animals caught in conflict deserved protection just as much as those living in peace.
Those of us working in animal rescue in conflict zones understand and accept these risks. But few possess the courage to repeatedly travel towards danger when everyone else is trying to escape it.
Jesse was one of those very special people.
His death is a devastating loss to his family, friends, RainCoast and the international animal rescue community.
Our hearts go out to everyone who knew and loved him, particularly the Ukrainian rescuers who worked alongside him.
His legacy lives on in every animal he saved and every rescuer he inspired.
Rest in peace, Jesse. The world has lost an extraordinary human being, and the animals have lost a true champion. 🐾💔

As a haver-of-a-cancer-with-a-terrible-survival-rate, my friends and I work to find things for me to fight to live for - people, experiences, etc. One of those categories is "media I enjoy" - the next Mass Effect was very high on that list and I'm so sad it was taken away.

Insane just-released CNN report on Russian military recruitment tactics alleges that bounty hunters are kidnapping Russian men on the streets and forcing them into service to get "bring a friend" cash bonuses from the Russian state.
The incidents are on the rise, and most involve vulnerable men, often in debt or with health or alcohol problems.
"In July, the person said, their uncle, an employee at a state defense company in his late 50s, was approached outside his apartment block by several men in civilian clothes and taken away in a car. They didn’t know where he was taken, but said that day 'they slipped him a document to sign, supposedly a 'notification that they were there.' It turned out to be a contract (to join the military)."
In this case, after signing the document, the uncle returned home, his relative said, but a week later he disappeared. A few days after that he called to say he was at a training ground in Luhansk, in Russian-controlled eastern Ukraine. In late September came the news he was missing in action.
