Very valuable thread on academic Q&A sessions. Having recently endured a Q&A session led by a very passive/timid(?) facilitator after a paper I delivered in which an extremely rude outsider to my discipline was allowed to dominate for an extended period, I'm all for this.

It's an honor to have my work published in the Journal of the American Academy of Religion (where I was once an editorial assistant to the peerless @CTMathewes!). I hope this piece is useful for teaching about Buddhism and gender, among other things. academic.oup.com/jaar/articl…

I wonder if they honestly think they can out work us? If they think their threats result in fear instead of motivation? I wonder if they think that their attempts to benefit from the suffering of those we work with will go on without a fight? The solidarity with @cupe_3906 grows.

We went into today truly hopeful #McMaster would come to the table with a fair and reasonable offer, but sadly, despite our best efforts, talks have broken down. We will be striking starting on Monday.

This is just one of the reasons @CameronKroetsch is getting my vote. He knows his stuff and he is truly compassionate. I’ll add that he’s a problem solver who uses genuine engagement to identify the best solutions. Can’t wait to cast my vote.
