In the past "cool kids ministry" looked down on @Awana Clubs as "old fashion." Fast forward to today & parents r getting kids out of screens & into tactile experiences where kids memorize the Bible & play games. Suddenly Awana U.S. is cool again & we grew by 81,000 kids in 2025.
I just love living in Tennessee.
My coworker spent one year in Tennessee.
He came back to Tokyo two months ago.
He is not the same man.
He says "y'all" in meetings. To our boss.
He holds the door for the entire floor. Twelve people. Every morning.
He asked the convenience store clerk how her day was going. She had to sit down.
He calls every man "bud." Including the CEO.
He refuses to describe anything under three hours away as "far."
He waves at drivers who let him cross. One driver waved back and almost hit a pole.
Last week, he told a junior employee, "I'm proud of you."
She went to the restroom and cried for ten minutes.
We thought it would wear off.
It didn't. It's spreading.
Three people in accounting now say "y'all."
The junior employee holds the door.
The convenience store clerk asks HIM how his day is going.
Tennessee, I don't know what you did to him.
Please do it to the rest of us.
The barn quilt is finally done! The H is for my neighbor’s barn. Hesson Farms. It’s gonna go right here.
Good leaders not only listen, but are also curious…learners…and ask loads of questions. What a great example that led to impact.
#Titans ST coach John Fassel said Julius Chestnut and James Williams Sr suggested the call that led to the blocked punt for a TD. "One of my strengths is my ability to listen to the players."
Get this. Awana is in over 12,000 PUBLIC schools across 17 countries in Africa. Over 5,000,000 school children hear the Gospel, get Bible teaching & Scripture memory, play games, & have loving caring adults around them.
Consider donating or adding to your church budget:

In marriage, Covenant is the platform and Faithfulness is the operating system.
Covenant — the theological framework for marriage
Faithfulness — the way it gets lived out
Oh my goodness y’all. Look what we just bought our granddaughter on eBay. She won’t be here for another 3 weeks…but we’re gonna be ready! 😍🩷
Last night Katie & I saw the documentary You Can See Everything & I was struck by the parallels between Elizabeth Holmes & @CTmagazine. Notice how @ElizabethHolmes said,
“the fact that we have a single device that CAN perform any test…”
Compare that to CT’s Elisabeth Elliot article which says, “… that Elliot WAS attracted to women as well as men.” And, “…experience same-sex attraction, as Elliot seems LIKELY to have experienced.”
It’s a rational & responsible question to ask, what motivates someone to use the English language this way, when there’s not evidence to support their claim?
Furthermore, what motivates someone to persist once they’ve been held accountable to the fact that there’s not sufficient evidence for their words?
These are serious questions, but people who persists in cognitive dissonance are not serous people.

Teddy Roosevelt’s diary entry from the day his wife died. He never spoke of her death again.
Our house is surrounded by cattle farms. On the one hand, it’s heartbreaking this time of year when the farmers separate the calves from their mothers to beef them up. Oh the incessant separation mooooing!
On the other hand, I do love steak.
Dear @CTmagazine I 600% increase agree. Best post of the weekend.
Dear @CTmagazine, you need @dandarling in editorial.
