This is so crucial in the healthcare debate.

He's missing the idea of Libertarian healthcare, entirely, lol. We had libertarian healthcare and it was *orders of magnitude* cheaper. The government shut it down. You were able to purchase a plan with a doctor network who had all of the hardware you needed to keep you healthy. Doctors with MRI, CT, X-ray, chemical testing, blood testing, etc. partnered. The types of doctors and techs would partner, as well, so if you needed specialized surgery? It was included. You could pay them a fee for yearly care plus a $25/visit fee. Not per test, but per visit. Don't use it? You're only out the yearly fee. That fee? About $200/yr in the early 1990s. The per capita expenditures for the government-backed insurance system in 1990? $2566 with personal healthcare expenditures of $2255 per person. The average person goes to the doctor fewer than three times per year. So 10 TIMES cheaper than the government solution. And you had better care. The networks were partnering for emergency care outside of the area and could work across state lines. So what happened to it? The government shut this down because it was "acting as insurance," which doctors are prohibited from doing. These weren't hospital groups, these were doctors working with their own equipment and their own practices. The government forced certificate of need, reducing the number of private practices. They force private practices into hospital groups. They forced additional administration overhead (50% higher as a proportion of healthcare spending, more than 10x higher nominally). You're paying more for worse, less personal care versus the libertarian solution. Libertarians don't have three ambulance companies show up and you select one. You select your healthcare networks and they work it out on the back end for who picks you up and how to handle the pay. And if people don't like the system that's there? They can make their own superior one. There's actual competition. Versus right now where you're literally not even allowed to compete because the government says your healthcare is a natural monopoly and they can decide how much you should be paying for it. They decided it should involve record profits, even inflation-adjusted, consistently for the last 30 years. Since 1980, let's look at the healthcare costs, inflation-adjusted, shall we? Hopspital care is up 2.8x Physicians and clinics are up 4.1x Prescriptions (which are the most futzed with by government) are up 6.8x Nursing homes and home health up 3.8x Dental is up 4.4x Insurer overhead (which is DIRECTLY required by the government) is up 5.9x Government program administration up 4.1x Public health is up 4.3x Research and construction is up 2.0x All health spending is up 3.6x So, the hospital care being up 2.8x? The government numbers don't break it out, so let's look at the studies, like Himmelstein, Campbell, and Woolhandler (2020) showing 34.2% of *all national health expenditures* are to administrative overhead. That's a more than 3x increase, inflation adjusted, from 1983. So the biggest increase for hospital costs directly come from the government. The government has never helped costs. It literally cannot, as it's a middle man.
Libertarian healthcare sounds fucking incredible. Imagine getting shot, bleeding out on the sidewalk, and three ambulance companies competing for your business. If you die before selecting one, an Austrian economist can explain how that was your revealed preference.

Libertarian Senate Candidates could lose in Iowa, Texas, and Kansas because of Republicans spoiling the vote. This would hand Democrats control of the U.S. Senate. This is inexcusable when we face an existential threat of communists & leftists who seek to destroy our republic. On election day, a vote for a Republican is a vote for a socialism.

Its funny to imagine the kind of morons these messages are meant to appeal to. Inflation is up, gas prices up, real wages down, disastrous Iran war, rampant White House corruption, failing schools, soaring debt... ...but at least they are protecting Tennessee from Sharia Law.
As your governor, I’ll protect Tennessee from Sharia law and the spread of Islamization.

Smart people know what they're supposed to think.
Very few smart people believe in genetic racial differences in intelligence. Interestingly, it's much more common among writers and intellectuals than smart people across the entire population. richardhanania.com/p/heredit…

Dear Republicans, When you inevitably blame libertarians please remember that I interviewed around 80 Libertarian candidates and therefore was a major enabler. Then come at me. I'll happily break down why you did it to yourselves.
Are we ready to take the blame for the massive democrat landslide libertarians?

I have finally cracked the mystery of Indian hate. For decades, conversations about race in America have gone like this. Liberals accuse conservatives of being racists, conservatives respond that they have non-racist reasons for their opinions. "No, I don't hate Mexicans, it's about the rule of law." "No, having more police isn't racist, in fact it helps black people the most." You can make an arguable case in each instance that conservatives had a point. This was our dialectic. Then the Indian came along. He's everything that conservatives have ever said they wanted in an immigrant: law-abiding, high-earning, family-oriented, legal, English-speaking, no terrorism or illiberal attitude. Here was an ultimate test that would show whether conservative opinions were ever based in reason. Conservatives not only failed to embrace Indians. They reacted with a fury to their existence that made all their previous prejudices look mundane. Imagine a woman who is attracted to toxic men but says she wants a nice guy. When she gets a nice guy who checks all the boxes, she hates him more than anyone else because he exposes her as engaging in self-delusion. His existence attacks her very identity. That's conservatives and Indians. The right wanted to believe that they had a political ideology that could appeal to smart, decent people. The conservative intellectual was always reverse engineering justifications to flatter the prejudices of chuds. Again, on most issues there was a plausibility to the arguments being made. Indians have exposed how fake the entire thing was. Conservative politics on a mass scale was rooted in stupidity and racism the whole time. Political scientists knew this already, but it's now become too glaringly obvious to deny, even for uninformed rightists themselves. There is nothing left for conservatives to do but give up on reason and embrace racial hate as their organizing principle. We should thank Indian immigrants, among all the other things they do, for providing this clarity. richardhanania.com/p/conserv…

Actually, a lot of high-IQ,young males focused on STEM wouldn’t mind going to a 75% male school.
Let's not pretend that anyone wants to go to a college that's 75% male. MIT giving half the slots to females is totally reasonable.

I, too, will never forgive libertarians for winning every election and taking over every social institution, thereby turning our civilization libertarian. If only progressives and neocons had taken turns running things for the past 100 years or so. Imagine the utopia we'd have.

What Vance should explain is why housing is so affordable in Texas, but unaffordable in California. Both are brimming with illegal aliens, which indicates that the big "why" behind it all has little to do with them.
Q: How does the right and yourself expect us to start families young when the average price of a home in America costs more than $415,000 which feels out of reach for us. Vance: The reason why housing exploded is in part because we allowed 20 million illegal aliens into our country to buy homes that ought by right go to American citizens.

What’s coming was avoidable, but Republicans in Congress let Trump start a war, increase spending, arm a genocide, betray MAHA, and cover up for Epstein’s coconspirators. I was ousted with over $30 million of foreign lobby money for refusing to go along, and here we are.

There were 300 Black students in Stuy in 1975. Brooklyn Tech was near 50% Black students through the '80s. DOE and politicians used the students as pawns and decimated tracking, G&T, SP classes, and every other thing they could just to prove H-C was "inequitable."
