From @EliasSports, about Dylan Cease, one of the best-kept secrets in baseball: Opponents’ contact rate––fair or foul–– on swings this season is only 66 percent, lowest in AL. He has allowed 3 ER or fewer in 18 starts this season, and in those outings, he has a 2.47 ERA.

Players understanding relevant statistics is massively underrated in development. A large % of players assess their season with stats like AVG/ERA. It is necessary to take ownership of what makes YOU a productive player instead of blindly chasing outdated stats

This is a perfect example of crafting pitches that set your arsenal apart. Most ⬆️ Gyro ⬇️ Spin eff% 4 seam guys attempt to inc. eff% in pitch design to fix their FB. Yes VB is 🤙🏻 but if your attempt leaves you with an avg 4 seamer, higher spin eff% & VB isn’t always better – at Florida, USA
Corbin Burnes' cutter is a🦄 pitch. He averages: ✅95.9 mph ✅2863 RPM ✅15" vertical break ✅-2.7" horizontal break Paired with his two-seam FB (97.2/13.2" VB/12.4" HB), he creates over 15" of horizontal separation between the pitches. Hitting is hard.

Did he attempt to straighten out his 4 seam and increase eff%? Who knows, but what we do know is his HB cutter has played wayyy better from 2019 in terms of whiffs and .wOBA – at Florida, USA

Pitch design is essentially a trade off system. Be careful of leaning towards what everyone says you should be going for. We all have unique physical factors that hinder and help our abilities to create certain pitches. Find what works for YOU – at Florida, USA

Great points by Devin. Find your way to be unique, don’t conform to “numbers” everyone is chasing. Always factor in performance with pitch design! – at Georgia, USA
Devin Williams Airbender. See Devin's grip in detail. And, his variations on the pitch. Also, how being an "outlier" helps in Pitching. His high spin wasn't always looked at as a good thing! [Thanks to @Watch_Momentum as always!] WATCH-->youtu.be/LyiaiyoD8GY
Not bad for a touch and feel. Victor used his low slot, plus extension, and elite VB to showcase a very appealing VAA on his 4 seam up in the zone. Easy +FB for this upcoming, with a developing SL @MLBDraft – at Tennessee, USA
Replying to @kileymcd
Watched a bullpen today of Missouri prep RHP Victor Quinn (Oregon State commit). Pretty new to pitching, has been as high as 98 on the mound this year, slider looks like best secondary. The high speed clips are four-seam, slider, curve, and change in that order @victor_quinn36
