When you continue to make case for a cap and act like you aren't... 😂
Dear Salary Cap people….

Evan Longoria and probably not close? Carl Crawford only other one even in conversation probably.
If you had to pick the greatest Tampa Bay Devil Rays/Rays player, who would you pick? Had to be there for at least five seasons

Imagine watching this video and thinking a sliding mitt is why he over slid the base 😂
Chandler Simpson just over slid second base because he had a sliding mitt on and couldn’t hold the bag with his fingers. Sliding mitt continues to be the dumbest invention in the game.

"Since 1991" The troll job is impressive 👏
The Mets spent $346.7M and went 74-88. The Brewers ($146M) and Rays ($96M) are in the World Series. First World Series with two bottom-half payrolls since 1991. Owners still want a cap and a Dec. 2 lockout for "competitive balance." Posting about it again. The evidence against a cap keeps coming.

This list is so weird... In 1995, you had the 100-44 Cleveland Indians drawing the 86-58 Boston Red Sox... Cleveland had best record in baseball by 10 games, Boston 3rd best... Boston had home field in that ALDS!
Pittsburgh won 98 games in 2015, the second best record in baseball, and all it bought them was one game against Jake Arrieta. Arrieta threw a complete game shutout at PNC Park, struck out 11, walked nobody, and the Cubs won 4 to 0. The year before, the Pirates' Wild Card game was against Madison Bumgarner, and he shut them out too. Two straight Octobers that lasted exactly one night. Which team's October luck bothers you most?

Cleveland never picking first til they crazy lottery of 2024. MLB alternating 1st overall pick by league was always kind of crazy
David Clyde went first overall to the Rangers in June 1973, an 18 year old lefty out of a Houston high school. About three weeks later he was starting in the big leagues. He struck out eight in his debut, got the win, and drew the first sellout in Arlington Stadium history. By 1979 he'd thrown his last major league pitch, with 18 career wins. Texas hasn't picked first since. Seven teams, the Dodgers, Giants and Cardinals among them, never have. When did your team last pick first overall?

"Steelers don't lose to the Browns at home" Except during playoffs 😂
The Steelers are 5-2 and on top of the Division. Let's look at their remaining schedule and see if they are a playoff team: Falcons (home) W 20–13 Patriots (away) L 3–20 Bengals (home) W 30–27 Browns (away) L 24–27 Colts (home) W 34–22 Buccaneers (away) W 26–19 (OT) Saints (Paris) W 16–10 Browns (home) - W (Steelers don't lose to the Browns at home) BYE WEEK Bengals (away) - L (Bengals at home, Steelers typically out of sync after a bye, give the Bungles the win) Eagles (away) - W (Hurts out, Barkley hurt, Brown hurt, their line is a mess. Steelers get their 1st win in Philly since 1965) Broncos (home) - W (Nix looks bad, but their D is good. This is gonna be a 10-6 win) Texans (home) - L (Annual stinker game we are supposed to win, but lose) Jaguars (away) - L (Jags are humming & Lawrence is playing great. Tuff road game) Ravens (home) - W (Jackson can't stay healthy and the Steelers own the Ravens) Panthers (home) - W (Not a good team, but has a decent record because their division is so bad. Steelers win) Titans (away) - W (This team is just bad) Ravens (away) - W (Steelers are 8-2 vs the Ravens in the last 5 years with 3 sweeps. The Steelers sweep again) Final Record 12-5, back to back division champs.

I use this line so much 😭
"Look up 'idiot' in the dictionary, you know what you'll find?" "A picture of me?" "No! The definition of the word 'idiot', which you fucking are!"😭

The amount of people that think they are "right" saying this wasn't a swing because of a rule that does not exist is really weird...
Sucks to always be right. Ump wanted to hear a crowd roar “due to him”, that’s all that was about. Some BS.

I'd argue the most important play was the 4th down when Tennessee was down 7 and had a delay of game and false start missed by the refs... But I agree this definitely should have been a false start too
Just a blatant false start by Dawand Jones on the most important play of the game. Awful by the refs.

Except that there is no definition of a swing so by rule, ump was correct calling it a swing. Using a rule that doesn't exist to justify your incorrect claim is weird 🤷🏼‍♂️
This is how replay review would’ve looked if MLB allowed you to challenge a check swing (which they 100% should). As I said… it’s very clearly not a swing.

More like the Bengals...
Replying to @DanSlaubaugh
We are 2 losses away from being the buffalo bills of baseball 😭

"Tampa Bay sports never easy" Dude you have seen 5 titles in last 25 years. 3 in last 7 years. It's easier being a TB fan than almost any other area in country

I mean, if Yandy thought it was a ball he shouldn't have swung 🤷🏼‍♂️
Like an umpire once said to a catcher disputing a ball/strike call on Ted Williams: “if it had been a strike, Mr. Williams would have swung.” Bring back normalizing good hitters getting special treatment. “If Mr. Diaz wanted to check his swing, he checked his swing.”

The MLB rule book does not define a "swing" or "checked swing." It is 100% the umpire's judgment. But just about every accepted understanding makes that swing. The barrel of his bat was through the hitting zone -- past parallel to the front of the plate. Had the ball struck the bat it would have gone into fair territory. That's no different than a bunt attempt that isn't pulled back in time.

You can't say the overhead view distorts things and use "that" side angle that is clearly not down the line or showing anything of value...
First off, he’s definitely NOT swinging at that ball. Second, the overhead view distorts the perspective terribly. And third, you can’t end a World Series game on a call like that.

I mean, it was a correct call in that there's literally no rule on a swing, and by every measure umps use that's a swing all day. Also they are using an ABS like system for check swings in minors and not really any issue with it...
I'm not sure I've ever heard a "neutral" play-by-play announcer editorialize so blatantly like this. Yes, it was a bad call but can you really think there won't be issues automating the judgement of CHECK SWINGS?! lol

Except that the angle from side says it's a swing. At least how every ump has called a swing the last 30+ years 🤷🏼‍♂️
Optical illusion because he pulled the bat up. The angle from the side is clear as day that this was a terrible call
