Watched this mad Italian/US Exorcist ripoff. It’s overlong & thin on story but not bad. The 2 young kids dubbed with sassy teenage dialogue, one drinking from a can of pea soup with a straw & the other carrying 15 identical copies of the same book everywhere added to the oddness.
Was very revealing yesterday to see so many people saying this man “deserved” to die - hope these same people never chat shit about “be kind” or pontificate about people with mental health issues again.
Just seen a tweet from someone trying to cancel Ace Of Base because they took a 34 year old lyric too literally.
Surely Hannah’s writing on those invitations is very recognisable #celebritytraitors

I’m not a fan of Israel’s actions in the last few years but there’s simply no situation against any enemy where what Hamas did on 10/7 is justified. I think of you find yourself defending or celebrating that attack you have the moral compass of a ham sandwich.

When it comes to your sex life & whom you choose to date or have sex with, there is no such thing as racism, transphobia, or any other "ism." Your right to bodily autonomy is absolute & no one is owed an explanation. Insisting otherwise is predatory behavior. End of discussion.

It's never been clearer than in this moment that the Free Palestine movement is not operating in reality.
The activists are posting, right this second, about how brave and difficult it is to show support for Palestine right now while simultaneously leading the most vicious cancellation campaign I've ever seen on Ed Sheeran, a man whose crimes amount to not cancelling the concert his fans bought tickets to and saying the Israelis who have been murdered also deserve sympathy.
Macklemore hasn't seen this much love and attention in years and somehow he accepted a great cost when he did the thing that made him famous again.
It's allegedly impossible to show even the slightest sympathy to Palestinians and yet Gillian Anderson gets overrun with hate comments because she didn't say Free Palestine in a video about Sudan.
They are delusional.
This floored me when I found out, I’d assumed it would be in like 1830

Gillian Anderson dared to speak up for Sudan and just see what her comments section looks like.
It’s an unspoken rule that any time someone mentions suffering that isn't in Gaza, the response is to attack them for not talking about Gaza.
Sudan has the largest displacement crisis in the world and millions of children going hungry, over 150,000 killed or starved to death, and the reaction to a video about them is "is she a zio?"
Do you understand how demented these people are?

Imagine telling yourself of 20 years ago: soon you'll be living in a world where famous British musicians, such as a bloke from rural Suffolk, are attacked, banned from radio play, because they refuse to give their public opinion on a political situation in the Middle East. Wild.

I don’t think anyone is built for this age. The politicisation of everything, the ideological insanity that’s crossed into mental illness, the inescapability of it, the relentless fucking newsfeed acting as partisan entertainment, it’s bad for everyone. A madness has taken hold!

A reminder that Ed Sheeran's crime here is not "having the wrong opinion". His crime is not expressing a view that he may, or may not, hold. What he actually believes is of secondary concern.
We're now into the world of compelled speech. Which ironically means that the next time you hear a musician bleating about Gaza, they may well be only doing it to save their own skin.
Actual conviction no longer matters: You just say the line.
Irish radio station Classic Hits Radio has said it will remove Ed Sheeran’s music from its playlists “for the foreseeable future”, amid the controversy surrounding US rapper Macklemore's removal from the British singer-songwriter's tour. jrnl.ie/7164895
