In summer 2014, Hamas launched thousands of rockets from Gaza at Israeli towns and cities. Israel responded with a military operation to stop the attacks. At the same time, then-MP Shabana Mahmood joined a coordinated protest outside a Sainsbury’s supermarket in Birmingham. About 200 activists blocked the store because it stocked products from Israeli settlements, forcing it to close for several hours during peak Saturday trading. Mahmood later bragged that the action cost the supermarket hours of business and urged the public to join boycott campaigns against Israeli goods. She did not treat the rocket fire as the central problem. While Israeli civilians were under direct attack, she focused on economic pressure designed to isolate and weaken Israel. Such actions reduce trade, investment, and practical support for the country defending its people from Islamic terrorism. In effect, she sided with the economic front of the campaign against Israel while it fought to stop the military front. That same person is now the UK Home Secretary—the minister responsible for policing, counter-terrorism, and the physical safety of Jewish communities across Britain. During a rocket war, she helped organize direct action to damage Israel’s economy instead of condemning the rockets. Readers outside the UK may not remember the 2014 protest. The sequence is simple: rockets hit Israeli cities; she helped shut down a British store over Israeli products and promoted the boycott; today she holds the job meant to protect British non-Muslims. The contradiction is not theoretical. It is operational.
This is one of the videos British Home Secretary Shabana Mahmoud deleted from her website. One she would like you to forget about.

LOL - New York liberals somehow think they can bring their nasty ways here to Florida. FAFO - now you're a felon. Come on vacation - leave on probation.
Liberal Richard from Syracuse here was walking past a Tundra truck in a Winn Dixie parking lot in Stock Island FL and didn’t like the let’s go Brandon sticker on it so he keyed it. Bad news for Richard it was all caught on video, and the owner is pressing charges. Here is the cop confronting, and arresting him. Apparently, he did about $6000 worth of damage which makes it a felony. Sometimes they do get caught and it’s wonderful! 62 year old man should know better. What an A$$!!

🦅🗣️🇨🇦💰 : There are 619 First Nation Band governments that are demanding individual consultations on every Federal & Provincial Bill governments seek to pass & every project those governments want to approve. Mark Carney has opened a huge can of worms by gifting First Nations tens of billions in new revenue, without getting anything in return. What are the guarantees from First Nation Chiefs that they will be accountable for ensuring fresh water, proper home building & the rule of law in their communities? Why is Mark Carney giving away huge sums of cash, without seeking a final remedy for the numerous FN land title claims? Why are Canadians being asked to pay more & assume more Federal debt than ever, while we have the uncertainty all these land title claims create? We being shown our democracy is just for show because the real power resides with unelected First Nation Chiefs. What is the point of paying taxes, if we don't actually get real representation & services, for the money we pay?

Former BBC Panorama producer @philcraig says the Beeb has been taken over by a “radical generation” and that “all the mistakes” in its Gaza coverage “seem to be in the same direction.” He points to the al-Ahli hospital blast, when the BBC rushed to blame Israel for what turned out to be a misfired Hamas rocket, and warns this kind of poor journalism has helped fan fires around the world — including literal fires at synagogues. “Am I a DEI hire?” That question is easily answered by the hundreds of thousands hired or promoted through processes that closed the door on White men, some openly, most through “preference given to...” a euphemism for “No White men need apply.” Policing is one of the clearest examples of DEI hiring and promotion, and it has cost the profession dearly. In large cities, when experienced White male officers realize they won’t be promoted, many leave for smaller services. A friend or two from their old platoon often follows within the year. Big-city chiefs have complained for years that they are training officers for every small town in Canada. They tried to stop what they call 'poaching' by agreement, but it fell apart, because small towns gain too much from hiring experienced officers who often have special training and skills. DEI is a big part of why our largest police services are struggling to retain their best and most experienced officers, and why Canadians increasingly deal with junior constables - many of whom are not proficient in English or French. Meanwhile, to fill the ranks, most of the country quietly dropped the requirement that police officers be citizens. You can now be investigated, arrested, and charged by someone who isn’t even a Canadian. DEI hiring and promotion has cost policing some of its best people, and the same pattern of ideologically driven hiring and promotion is visible across many Canadian professions. Alberta’s Bill 33 is a start, but for two decades, positions of authority in public service and other critical professions have been filled by processes that put race, sex and identity ahead of merit. Undoing that will take more than one province, more than one bill, and probably decades.
The best person for the job should get the job. Period. Today we tabled legislation that would ensure hiring and promotion decisions in the public sector are based on merit, not DEI policies. Mandatory workplace training will be relevant to the roles and responsibilities of the employee, instead of mandatory DEI sessions. Every Albertan deserves a fair shot, and fairness means everyone competes on the same terms.

The Arab-Islamic slave trade began in the 7th century and didn't fully end until the early 20th century. Over those 1,300 years, an estimated 10 to 18 million Africans were taken from the continent, marched across the Sahara or shipped across the Indian Ocean. It outlasted the transatlantic slave trade by more than three centuries, and by some estimates moved more people overall. THE PROCEDURE A large share of the men taken were castrated, mainly to serve as eunuchs guarding harems, households, and royal courts. The operation was performed with primitive tools and little to no medical care. Mortality estimates vary, but most historians describe it as extremely high, with many accounts putting the death rate at over half. THE RESULT Enslaved women, unlike the men, frequently had children, often with the men who enslaved them. Surviving castrated men could not. Historians point to this as a central reason the African diaspora across the Middle East and North Africa is so much smaller today than in the Americas, despite a trade that ran for over a millennium. It wasn't only the men who died in the procedure or on the journey. It was every child who was never born after them. WHAT'S LEFT Small Afro-Arab communities still exist today in places like Iraq, Yemen, and the Gulf states, descended from those who survived. Compared to the millions taken over thirteen centuries, what remains is a fraction of what those numbers would suggest.

When she pulled the sponsorship and cut him off, he waited masked in the bushes and shot her dead after her shift. This is what 4 years of Biden’s unvetted parole programs produced. Unchecked. Unvetted. Deadly. Trump ended the program. Now DEPORT THEM ALL.

October 27, 1942. In the Atlantic off the coast of northwest Africa, a wolf pack of German U-boats falls upon a slow convoy of merchant ships and begins tearing it apart, sinking ship after ship over several days. It was one more convoy massacre in the long Battle of the Atlantic, except for one extraordinary thing: by dying, this convoy may have saved one of the most important operations of the war. The convoy was SL-125, bringing merchant ships up from Sierra Leone toward Britain, the kind of slow, vulnerable convoy that the U-boats loved to hunt, the same sort of target as the SC-7 I told you about. A pack of submarines found it near the approaches to Gibraltar and set upon it in the running, multi-day battle that wolf-pack tactics had made so deadly, attacking at night on the surface, and over the days around the 27th they sank around a dozen of the convoy's ships, a brutal loss. But here is the thing that makes SL-125 unlike any other convoy battle. At that very moment, just over the horizon, an enormous Allied operation was under way. Hundreds of ships carrying tens of thousands of American and British troops were converging on the coast of northwest Africa for Operation Torch, the great Anglo-American invasion of French North Africa, the first large joint offensive of the war in the west, timed to come down on Rommel's rear as he reeled back from El Alamein. That invasion fleet was passing through the same waters, and if the U-boats had found it, the slaughter could have been catastrophic, troopships full of soldiers sent to the bottom before they ever reached the beaches. Instead, the U-boats found SL-125. The wolf pack that might have fallen on the invasion convoys was drawn to the slow merchant ships and spent itself attacking them, its submarines concentrated around SL-125 and out of position to intercept the Torch fleet, which slipped past and reached North Africa to make its landings successfully. The sacrifice of the merchant ships and their crews, unknowing, had in effect screened the invasion. There has long been a dark question hovering over SL-125: was it deliberate? Some have wondered whether the convoy was knowingly routed as a decoy, offered up as bait to pull the U-boats away from the invasion fleet, its merchant sailors sacrificed on purpose to protect the soldiers. The evidence is murky, and most historians think it was more likely a fortunate accident than a cold-blooded plan, that the convoy's suffering happened to draw the wolves at exactly the right moment. One British commander is said to have remarked, grimly, that it was the only time he was glad to see a convoy attacked. Either way, the result was the same. The men of SL-125 paid a heavy price in ships and lives, and their ordeal, deliberate or not, helped ensure that the Torch invasion fleet got through. It is one of the strange, poignant footnotes of the Atlantic war, a convoy whose destruction may have been its unintended gift, the merchant sailors who died off Africa so that an army could land, mostly unaware of what their sacrifice had bought.

Dear Toronto, We need to talk. I was born here. I learned to drive on the Gardiner, I know the exact smell of the TTC in July, and I’ve spent more of my life than I’d like to admit arguing about whether the east end is better than the west end. This city is in my bones. Which is why it hurts so much to say this: I’m done. Olivia Chow just got re-elected. Again. And I can’t pretend this is still the place I fell in love with. Look, I tried. I defended the bike lanes while sitting in traffic that now moves at the speed of a progressive policy paper. I paid the property tax increases with a smile and a slight twitch in my left eye. Toronto, I’ve seen you at your best. Summer nights at the island, that one perfect slice at a place that closed forever during covid in 2020, the feeling when the streetcar actually shows up. But I’ve also watched you slowly become a place where the most common conversation is either “how much is your rent?” or “did you hear about the latest thing that happened on the subway?” And now the person in charge of steering us out of it just got another four years. I can’t keep doing this. I can’t keep explaining to out-of-town friends why a city this rich still can’t pick up its trash, clear a sidewalk, or house its people without turning every solution into a morality play. I can’t keep pretending that freezing fares while everything else goes up is some kind of genius economic strategy. And I definitely can’t keep watching the same debates about “community safety” end with a new working group and a press release. So I’m leaving. I’m taking my Canadian Tire money, my residual fondness for the skyline, and my deep, abiding love of complaining about the weather, and I’m going somewhere that might actually change something when people are unhappy. You’ll always be my first love. But right now you’re the ex who keeps texting “we can make this work” while clearly dating the same person who broke your heart the first time. Take care of yourself. Or don’t. Apparently most of you are fine either way. Sincerely, A native who checked the real estate listings south of the border P.S. If you ever want to try again, you know where to find me. Just don’t bring Olivia. (I asked Grok to write this breakup letter for me because I couldn't even be bothered enough about Toronto any more to do it myself. I did make a few edits, however.)

‼️‼️🚨🚨 🚨 MAJOR BREAKING IN BRUSSELS: EU slams the brakes on Canada’s "Associate Member" title just 48 hours before the Montreal summit! 🇨🇦🇪🇺 Germany, Italy, and Greece have officially blocked a joint summit statement over the phrase, while France remains deeply skeptical. Here is what's actually happening behind closed doors: ❌ It’s legally nonexistent: The term "associate membership" is completely unmentioned and undefined anywhere in official EU treaties. 🛑 No consultation: EU member states were blindsided. Reports reveal European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen made the pitch without consulting member capitals first, sparking anger in Paris and Berlin over the "legal uncertainty." 📋 The Summit is changing track: EU ambassadors are scrambling today to strip the phrase from the communique. Meanwhile, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has downplayed the title, shifting focus to the actual substance of the talks. The Bottom Line: What exactly was Canada being signed up for? Nobody can say—because even the EU can't define it yet. #CdnPoli #EUPoli #Canada #EU #BreakingNews #MarkCarney

I wear a Poppy 🌺 out of respect for those who served this country and went before me. Not because someone tells me I have to, or tries to shame me into not. I do so to remember my Dad, my Grandad, my Cousin’s and my Uncle’s, and the friends I’ve lost. Don’t make it into anything else because to do so is absolutely wrong.

Remember when some random Gazan woman came out with a crazy story claiming that the IDF had gone into a Gaza hospital and rape dozens of people, and hundreds of propagandists posted the story virally and it was reported on mainstream media and podcasts… then just a day later, even Hamas and Al Jazeera came out and openly admitted it was a complete lie and a fabricated story. Well I remember. All they ever do is lie and make stuff up.

There was once a shepherd who found a wolf caught in a snare at the edge of his pasture. The wolf begged to be freed. “I was hungry,” it said. “That is all. Spare me, and I will remember your mercy!” The shepherd cut the rope. The next night, three lambs were gone. Again the shepherd found the wolf. Again it pleaded. Again the shepherd convinced himself that mercy was proof of his goodness. By winter, half the flock was dead. An old farmer finally asked him, “Why do you keep freeing it?” The shepherd answered, “Because I refuse to become cruel.” The farmer looked at the empty field and said, “Then understand what you have done. You were not merciful to the wolf. You were cruel to everything that trusted you to keep them safe.” That’s the lesson. Mercy without judgment isn’t virtue. When someone openly intends to destroy what has been entrusted to you, endless forgiveness doesn’t make you righteous. It makes everyone behind you pay for your vanity.
