Sec of State Candidate @MaxForIndiana says he WANTS the Indiana Inspector General to investigate the Secretary of State’s office.
In an interview, with @tonykatz Engling said he has called for an IG investigation into allegations involving the office, including questions surrounding nepotism and the state SUV.
He said that if elected, he would work directly with the Inspector General and conduct his own internal review of the office to determine what changes are needed.
Engling also criticized proposals from his opponents to bring in law enforcement or pay for an independent investigation, arguing the Inspector General is the appropriate authority to investigate potential wrongdoing.
“I have already actively and repeatedly said that we would work directly with the IG to investigate the office,” Engling said.
He added that he would support the IG’s work to ensure outstanding issues are resolved.
