So apparently. Stephen Miller is a mainstream political figure who worked for the Trump administration and Leftists just don't like the way he actually started enforcing laws both parties voted for and had on the books for decades and that's all.

No, you're just stupid on multiple levels of retarded corporate bootlicking.
I'm interested in following emulator news because I hate Nintendo.
I'm not interested in actually playing pirated Switch games, because I hate Nintendo.

Nintendo relies on intentionally engineered scarcity and on monopolistic Yakuza tactics to screw over everyone else: retailers, developers and consumers. Everything about their company, all the brighty shiny friendly Mario crap, exists to conceal that brutal reality from you.

What emulators prove is that there is absolutely nothing about these locked down consoles which a PC can't do and that Nintendo is choosing power and control over profit every time they release a game they aren't selling on PC.

Yes, yes and yes. Nintendo had the option to bring Super Mario Bros 3 to PCs in 1990 by signing on the dotted line with id Software. The reason why they didn't is because Nintendo is evil and they want to control you more than they want your money.

This isn't about RAM allocation, it's about anti-competitive behaviour from RAM manufacturers creating more scarcity that there needs to be, and it's about people wanting to own their computing.

If you want to get a similar, more right wing take on the universe, comparable to Star Trek, then try Ender's Game.

Star Trek for me generally tends to provide a window into how left wingers think. Do I agree with that way of thinking? No, because I'm not a left winger. But Star Trek makes it more understandable. It also makes the false assumptions stand out as literal sci fi premises.
Benjamin McLean retweeted
Right wingers seem to have a level of intelligence that left wingers completely lack, because they don't require absolute lock step orthodoxy to their own exact political views to respect or enjoy the creative arts. Left wingers can only enjoy a mirror, never a window into others

Also this.
It's fun to talk about Star Trek in regard to the interesting issues it raises, but its capacity (on a good day) to raise real questions is much MUCH greater than its capacity to give serious answers.
NOTE: I'm a fan of Star Trek, not a "hater." But I'm a tempered fan.
The show is a philosophical mess. Oh yes, its values are progressive, which is why it's incoherent--that's what progressive values are.
1. It pretends there's no such thing as money or currency. Never explains it. Pretends human nature changed and people just "do the right thing" with no commensurate reward.
2. Runs a military organization with a hierarchy, but pretends that it hates battleships and war. Pretends these things can be managed away if everyone would just Federation harder.
3. They wouldn't give up the Federation hierarchy any more than Marxists will give up their penthouse so that the poor they claim to care about are equal.
4. Puts 1,000 people and families on a warship, puts that ship in danger, then the crew insist on prioritizing the safety of nanites that are destroying the ship over the preservation of their own people and families.
5. Consistently places the sensible, cautious, and sometimes militaristic points of view concerned with survival in the mouths of what we would call "Maga-coded" caricatures today.
Even when the "Maga" character is right, and the Captain has to do what he suggests to save the ship, the smug crew and writers still mock him and act superior.
It's a great show. It's also a ridiculous, infantile, leftist liberal cream-jeans fantasy.
Gene Roddenberry and the main production crew for decades are liberal man children.

1. Make a movie called Resident Evil.
2. Movie has almost no connection to Resident Evil.
3. Get angry when fans call out movie for having almost no connection to Resident Evil.
Modern filmmaking, everyone.
Zach Cregger says he was frustrated with the reaction to his Resident Evil movie because people spent too much time arguing about how different it was from the games.
“I was frustrated at the conversation around Resident Evil and how much of the conversation really didn’t have anything to do with the movie.”
People kept focusing on missing characters, changes to the lore and why the film wasn’t closer to the original games.
Cregger wanted to capture what it feels like to play Resident Evil rather than just copy the games’ story and characters.
He’s still proud of the movie, though, and says he made exactly the film he wanted.

I don't know whp this guy is, but I notice an asymmetry between the way right wingers react when left wingers die versus how left wingers react when right wingers die. The right wingers have respect for people they disagree with about politics. Leftists are uncivil assholes.
I think the term "wealth inequality" is inadequate for the reality that the people using it intend to communicate. The problem is not that different choices produce different economic outcomes: that's an expected result of having any economy with any degree of freedom in it. ...

I hope that's true but what I fear is a world where ordinary people can no longer buy computers even at the level we have now: only thin clients which are made to do only one thing, connect to the cloud. No HDDs, no SSDs, no SD cards, just barely enough storage to stream with.

OK forget local AI for a second.
Just try to buy a normal computer.
Ordinary people can't because they had the government steal money from them to give it to OpenAI to leverage against their own interests when they try to buy common ordinary computers & electronics.

Sam, 64gb just sitting in the drawer of my desk doing nothing. Stay mad about it faggot.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says it’s “quite terrible” that people have so much DRAM sitting in their own PCs instead of being used in data centers.
“Everyone have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer. And be used 5% of the time,”
He argues that cloud data centers should make better use of limited memory supplies instead of people running AI models locally.
