#NEW -- A Syrian diplomatic source told SANA:
"Reports of sending Syrian military forces to Yemen at this time are unfounded, as Syria’s priorities in the coming period focus on consolidating internal security, reconstruction, and economic recovery."

Unpopular opinion: After 14 years of war and all the destruction that came with it, #Syria needs investment and real money flowing in more than anything else right now. Yes, we need skilled Syrians from abroad to come back and help, but experience alone isn’t enough.
The country’s been hit hard. Roads, factories, power, hospitals… so much is damaged or just not working. Capital is what lets you actually rebuild these things fast, get businesses running again, create jobs, and start generating some real #economic momentum.
Without that money, even the smartest people end up stuck waiting.
You can’t steer a damaged ship into a storm before repairing it. While strategy and expertise guide the navigation, you still need raw materials to fix the hull. Right now, capital is that single critical resource #Syria needs to accelerate its recovery.
Hopefully, this won't be the start or continuation of abducting underage girls by SDF to recruit them into the YPJ's Task Forces battalions.
.@YPJspox Ruksen Mohamed confirms that Syria's Ministry of the Interior approved the formation of two YPJ battalions within the Special Task Forces (400 female fighters).
One battalion will be based in Aleppo Governorate and stationed in Kobani and Afrin. The second battalion will be stationed in Hasakah Governorate

Syria stabilized so much that the shitty neighbour in the southwest with their "most moral army" (/s) alone made up for 50% of security incidents of last week in the whole country...
- 64 diplomatic engagements
- 55 security incidents (50% of them #Israel actions)
- 10 new government appointments
& so much more from the past week in #Syria -- all covered as always by #SyriaWeekly.

Many people lack a grasp of politics. However, he provided an answer that adheres to the laws and constitution of America. Only astute people comprehend the reason behind the reporter’s question. America is distinct from the Middle East. He should prioritize the laws and legislation of America rather than those of the Middle East. Therefore, refrain from attacking him if you fail to comprehend the message he advocates for the people who elected him.
16 hand-carved pieces for a single phone case: The Damascus shopkeeper who knew President Sharaa before the world did, he tells the full story:
"The President, back in 2001-2002 when he first started university, used to work. He liked to work. He would come by to pick up leather pieces.
I would hand them to him piece by piece (leather). He’d strip them down at his place and craft them by hand, cutting out the best sections for phone cases so they wouldn't tear and could be re covered easily.
He crafted high quality cell phone cases with remarkable attention to detail. He’d sew custom leather skins for your phone and sell them. We kept doing business together for a long time, just the two of us.
What amazed me was that while a standard phone case on the market was just two or three pieces, like a front, a back, and sides, he wouldn't do it like everyone else. He would assemble sixteen separate pieces, painstakingly crafting details from one edge to the other, framing the camera and everything, just to make it distinctive. Why? So no one would copy it, it was a lot of work.
Ever since he became the President I recognised him immediately. Later I told him This is still our shop; this has been, like, 30, 40 years we’ve been working on these stuff (leather and textile)."

That goes under equal rights to women in comparison to men. I think many Arab countries have the same law where the mother can’t grant the citizenship to her children. There shouldn’t be any restrictions in that regard.
I find the reaction of many Syrians opposing this law to be very exaggerated. I have an aunt and a cousin who are married to Turks, and I think it would be a good thing for their children to be able to retain their Syrian nationality.
Obviously, people will bring up extreme examples to portray this as a horrible decision, but that's precisely why conditions and safeguards should be put in place.

Apparently, Syria's sovereignty is negotiable when Israel is involved.
Imagine being told that international law matters, while watching foreign troops raid homes in your own country.
How long is this supposed to be normal?

In Old Damascus, President Sharaa checked in on a textile shop owner he used to buy from back in 2001–2002.
He mentioned stopping by around 2 a.m. recently and finding the shop closed. The owner smiled and said a call would have brought him out immediately.
The brief exchange showed how familiar the place still feels to Sharaa and how he still treats the shops and neighbourhoods he once knew as a place worth returning to, shop by shop, memory by memory.

The Kurdish areas are part of Syria. How difficult is that to understand?
Learning English and for some constituencies Kurdish are essential but the Lingua Franca must be enforced.

2 months ago, the US govt removed #Syria's SST status.
Yet @CommerceGov @howardlutnick remain behind the game -- retaining export controls aligned with the old SST status & undermining President #Trump's agenda for #Syria.

Frankly, Syria’s top universities (Damascus, Aleppo, Homs, and others) teach in Arabic, and the vast majority of the population speaks Arabic. As a result, students who never learn Arabic will face severely limited career prospects in the future.
