The first public workshop on Lanyon at the Vibecheck Hackathon in SF. So many interesting projects! From using Lanyon to model articulation constraints in robots, to producing a full flight simulator, to modeling integrable systems, to solving the Klein-Gordon equation!

A mathematician gave Claude a knot theory problem he'd been thinking about for years. After hundreds of exchanges, the AI helped uncover new algebraic structures and six independent knot concordance invariants. Robert Lipshitz then spent 50–100 hours rewriting and checking the mathematics. The result is a 40-page research paper. Perhaps the most surprising detail: the research was conducted using an ordinary $20/month Claude subscription. A glimpse of what human-AI mathematical collaboration can look like.

My mother was a philosophy professor in Oxford ... and at age 8 I was fond of declaring "If there's one thing I'll never be when I'm grown up it's a philosopher!" Well, decades later, my science led me to figure out some rather interesting things in philosophy ... and now there's a book of my philosophical essays just published. amazon.com/Ultimately-There-…

At @lanyon_ai, we’re completing Hilbert’s (other) dream. From November 1st, we’re rolling out pre-release versions of Lanyon to early customers and testers, and will be hosting simultaneous public demos of Lanyon capabilities in San Francisco and Chicago. From moon bases to modular reactors to atomic-scale programmable matter, we're on a mission to make the abstract concrete, to make the digital physical, and to formally verify reality. Join us!

This is the Weierstrass function, a “monster” that is continuous everywhere but differentiable nowhere. First published in 1872, it prompted scrutiny of assumptions in calculus. Similar functions are used to study random motion and analyze risk. quantamagazine.org/the-jagge…
