October 21, 2026 | Emergency Update
I want to provide an urgent update to the residents of Legislative District 7 regarding the tornado that touched down in Heber, Arizona.
The storm has caused considerable damage, and power is currently out in the affected area. At this time, one injury has been reported. Emergency officials are continuing to assess the situation.
I am working directly with local authorities and Navajo County Supervisor Seymour to evaluate the damage, coordinate response efforts, and identify the immediate needs of affected residents.
I am calling on the Governor of Arizona to declare a STATE OF EMERGENCY to ensure that emergency resources, personnel, and assistance can be mobilized quickly to support the Heber community.
Our immediate priorities must be protecting lives, restoring electrical service, ensuring public safety, and providing assistance to families whose homes and property have been damaged.
Tomorrow afternoon, I plan to personally visit the affected areas, meet with local officials, and conduct an on-site assessment to determine what additional state assistance may be required.

Stay away from downed power lines and damaged electrical equipment.
Avoid damaged roads, structures, and areas where emergency crews are operating.
Use generators outdoors, away from windows and doors.
Follow all instructions issued by local emergency management and law enforcement.

Marana Police confirmed they’re investigating, yet no criminal charges have been publicly announced.
Here’s where things get interesting.
In property theft cases, the homeowner’s willingness to cooperate can play a significant role in whether charges move forward.
The incident was caught on camera, the canvasser’s identity is reportedly known, and a police report was filed. So what’s the holdup?
I’ve reached out to contacts familiar with MPD to determine whether the homeowner is cooperating.
Could the homeowner be reluctant to pursue charges now that the incident has become politically embarrassing for Katie Hobbs and her supporters? Did they share the video before realizing the individual was canvassing for their own political side?
We don’t know, but it’s a fair question.
And let’s be clear: Had this been a pro-Andy Biggs canvasser, would the media be calling her a generic “political canvasser,” or would Biggs’ name be plastered across every headline?
The individual was distributing pro-Hobbs literature. That’s a fact.
Political accountability shouldn’t disappear the moment the person responsible turns out to be on your own side.

Today, I sent a formal letter to @AZAGMayes requesting an immediate investigation into Maricopa County Recorder Justin Heap’s Office over misleading Election Day information and reports of eligible U.S. citizens improperly designated as ineligible voters.
With Election Day approaching, voters deserve accurate information, transparency, and accountability. The right to vote must be protected.
